I've worked a lot with migraine sufferers, and the ONLY thing I've ever seen make a different is upper cervical Chiropractic care.
It takes about 8-12 treatments to have them significantly better, and then some maintenance (every one or two months) after that.
Better than taking 6-8 pills a day!
The "Gonstead" system of chiropractic suggested by another responder deserves elucidation.
At the heart of the Gonstead system is the "Nervo-Scope". This is a refinement of an instrument used by B.J. Palmer, an early developer of chiropractic, called the "Neurocalometer". This was said to detect the elusive "vertebral subluxation" by heat sensing. A Gonstead practitioner uses the Nervo-Scope to map "subluxations" along the spine, which are then "adjusted". Even the Canadian Chiropractic Association calls this Nervo-Scope device clinically worthless (using more tactful words, of course).
The bottom line is that subluxations in the chiropractic sense are imaginary constructs that don't exist. This Gonstead Nervo-Scope gadget does not detect anything real, and Gonstead methods are delusional. Migraine suffers can safely ignore anything a Gonstead chiropractor recommends
