this. should work - as it did for me.. .you will notice a dramatic difference!

buy the root 'ginger' peel it - and thinly slice it....

add to 2 cups of water (depending on size of ginger) and boil
and let simmer for a while (you will see the water darkening etc) 10 mins approx +

Add tablespoon, more or less of honey (good for throat and also to kill the hotness of the ginger)

and drink....... twice a day or more up to you...

seriously, worked for me in nooooooo time after being suggested by a singaporean friend of mine!

all the best!

actually, i sing and what i've found helps too is... sipping on a room temperature glass of BRANDY! hehe just sip on it, not get drunk off it!

also, you can gargle some cider! not apple cider, but real cider... like the vinegary kind hehe Report It

  • I have the same problem. But I suggest don't talk or sing or anything using your voice. Also drink something hot, and suck on hard candy. Eating honey works too. Also, don't do anything that requires lots of energy because if you start to breathe hard your throat will get sore. Put honey in hot tea. Go on vocal rest. Just try to rest your voice as much as possible. Best of luck with your speech.

You should not utter one word and should try to drink fluids to hydrate your throat. do not drink anything too hot or too cold. Also, resist going into climate changes frequently as it reaks havoc on your voicebox. You can also try to go online to webmd and ask that question, they might be able to help you. I am a singer and get my voice problem questions answered by them and they work!

In addition to completely resting your voice until time for your presentation, mix 1 tablespoon of either apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of local honey, and a glass of warm water. This is soothing, and you can drink it intermittently.
You may also find it helpful to gargle with warm salt water several times tonight and tomorrow morning.
