Have you ever gone to an energy healer? Reiki? How was it?!
Question: Yes, I've had the occasional session which started me on the path to providing Reiki healing to others. For the most part it's wonderfully relaxing and the receiver often dozes off during the session. You don't have to believe in Reiki, just be open enough to be willing to accept the healing energy. I'm finding that this is becoming more popular as people seek answers to their life issues beyond popping pills and traditional medicine. Reiki does not promise a cure, but then again Western Medicine really cannot promise a cure either.
My husband used to be the biggest skeptic when it came to Reiki when I first met him. He wasn't sure about believing in something like this, but he was willing to give it a try. That's all it takes. Now he asks me to give him Reiki when he needs it. It's helped him enormously in many ways. He's the first to tell people he doesn't understand how it works, but it does and that's all that matters to him.
There are many nay-sayers here in Alt Med in regards to Reiki. Sure they have a right to their own beliefs, but I don't think it's right that they put down or criticize others for thinking differently than they do. You can't knock something you've never tried yourself. I don't care how many websites they quote stating it bogus.
If you are considering some Reiki sessions, by all means give it a try! Any fee that is charged is for the healer's time, not for the energy channeled. Just like if you go to a doctor or to get a massage... those people charge for their time.
