Any knowledge/experience about Co q 10--?!

Question: I already searched google...but do you know anything personally

Answers: I already searched google...but do you know anything personally

Yes, it's essential for heart health. People who take statins are also preventing the creation of Co Q10 in the liver, which can lead to problems years down the line. Check out www.lef.org and go to CoQ10 (search) for articles and more information. They do sell supplements, but they have a top-notch research section.

Update: the poster below reminded me that I stopped taking it for awhile (a few months), and I ran into real heart problems. I am back on and take fairly religiously. BTW, CoQ10 is difficult to assimilate, so you really need to take about 50 mg to get much benefit, and the ubiquinol form is the best. Spend the extra money and get a good brand.

I'm surprised there aren't more answers yet. CoQ10 is good for a variety of things from cellular energy production (because it is one of the ingredients your body uses to make ATP), Cardiovascular health, immune system health, healthy oral tissues, heart health, it's a good antioxidant and many other things.
The other answer is also right about the Statins.... but that's what the Statin drugs do, not what CoQ10 does.

Personally, I take a chewable CoQ10 for the healthy oral tissue part. I'm trying to strengthen my gums (which I know aren't the strongest).... and yes, I know... even if it doesn't strengthen my gums like I'm hoping, I'll at least get all the rest of the benefits, which can really help anyway.

its an antioxident & more potent than the others.
