A question for those who have improved their over-all health?!

Question: Hello,

I have posted this question in a few forums of the health related forums...

I'm wondering for those who have made a more serious committment to their health & over-all wellness.

What was the 'thing' that you did that benefitted you the most in regards to your journey to better health & well-being?

It might be exercise, vitamins, supplements, change of envirement, various types of therapies. Do you understand what I mean?

And thank you very much for answering this question.

Regards.

For me, it has been a weight issue. I've lost over 150 lbs, not by surgery or medication or anything else like that. It means more to me knowing that I did it on my own. It was a lot of hard work, but I did it with exercise, watching what I eat, having more positive thinking. I now eat better, feel so much better, and am feeling like I am taking my life back!

well balanced diet and exercise will beat any supplement

For me it was cutting my caffeine and soft drink consumption back from 10 - 12 cups per day to only 1 or 2 coffees ............ caffeine is very dehydrating as is soda/soft drink and without water our bodies will struggle to do even the most basic of activities!! I found out pretty quick smart why I could never sleep properly, was always constipated and had pretty lousy looking skin and hair and nails .......... that all cleared up once I ditched all the caffeine and sodas.

CHEERS
?

I cut back on coffee and started drinking lots more water. Water helps to flush toxins from a body. I also take a whole food supplement because I don't eat right all the time. I have stopped almost all fast food. Now when I eat fast food I feel horrible for days, it's like a hangover without drinking.

Good question! For me, it was lots of changes. Firstly drinking lots more good quality filtered water (not town water). That in itself made a big difference. After that I cut our wheat and dairy. That was about 3 years ago and I haven't been sick since. The wheat and dairy industry is so huge they have everyone believing that it's good for you, when in fact the opposite is true. Just good advertising. I have lots of longer stories about this sort of thing, e-mail if you want more info.

No sugar.........EVER, not even sweet juices

no soda, candy and eat less.more exercise.

I made 3 big changes which affected my health:

The biggest change I made was cutting out wheat and sugar out of my diet and eating 3 reasonable meals a day. This got rid of my depression, psoriasis, food cravings, fatigue and arthritis. I'm so happy that I don't even miss it. I also lost 30 lbs and am at a very healthy weight.

The other big change I have made to my health is to focus a lot on my relationships. I make sure to spend lots of time with my friends and make an effort to stay busy with people. This really helps keep me happier and saner!

The last thing I have done is to completely cut out trans fats and eat a lot more healthy fats such as fish and nuts.

First of all, Mr. Puffy Shoes is incorrect in his statement. A balanced diet is not always good enough. Many "healthy" foods are treated with pesticides, fertilizer, antibiotics, and hormones before they ever make it to the consumer. Certain supplements however, are organic and processed at low heat to preserve the nutrients without the harmful chemicals used in other methods.

To answer your question:
I have suffered with migraines since age 5, asthma since birth, chronic allergies and infections, and horrible pain during my cycle. I no longer have any of these conditions as of 1 year ago. What happened is that I educated myself on how the body works and what it does to heal "itself". I started seeing a Chiropractor (now I work for him) and within 2 months my migraines disappeared. Soon after I had no problem with allergies, infections, or asthma. My cycle even became more bearable. I am now the healthiest person I know. I drink more water (half my weight in ounces of water: If you weigh 100 lbs. you should drink 50 oz. of water daily), I eat a mostly organic balanced diet (with supplements), and I exercise regularly. I also cleanse biannually to remove any harmful chemicals that my body has absorbed from food, water, air, and other environmental hazards.

Good luck on your quest to being the healthiest you can be!
