A question for reiki practicioners?!
Question: when you are going to do a distance reiki healing , and you are not asking money for your services , is it normal , reasonable to ask for an energy exchange with the person you are gonna treat? what risks there are in doing this?

I don't ask for an energy exchange for treatments. Since I am not exchanging energy with them to start with, there is no point to. As a Reiki practitioner, I work as a channel for Reiki energy to move through. I am not giving my energy, therefore I ask none in return. If there is an exchange, it is between the recipenent and the Universe.
As far as risks, there is always a risk that you will pick up anothers vibration by bringing in their energy to you. As you don't do this in Reiki, you should have no problems.
I do not ask money for Long Distance Reiki healing, as with all Karma.. Your darma (action) creates an action for you as well. You send out good and good returns to you.
The only thing I do is make sure I have a request and permission to send Reiki.
I have had a Reiki Long Distance healing group for many years and we just send Reiki to anyone that requests it.
I do charge for Reiki sessions when someone comes to my office, because It requires my time and money that I spend for having a place to do Reiki
Let me get this straight: You want to "phone in " a Reiki healing session, and you want to know whether it is ethical to ask for an "energy exchange"??
The true answer is this: There is no "energy exchange" in ANY Reiki treatment
