yes look under sports massage, but ask this question. how often do you work with shoulder issues? A lot of sport massage therapists work on any issue of the body, if you can find someone who specializes in shoulder issues the faster and quicker the healing it..

I'm in southeast Idaho and professional athletes travel to me to get their shoulders and hips worked on..

You might also want to call around the the universities sports medicine departments and ask..

another great option for you to help your shoulder is to search the name Pete Egoscue he has a book called chronic pain, with lots of exercises which will help you get the muscles moving the bones properly.

By the sound of you're injury, you need to find a sports masseuse, as she will be qualified to work on the muscle in light of it's particular injury. That said, a masseur may be equally acceptable to you (the difference merely being the gender of the therapist).

It's hard to give you any specific information on where you might find this without knowing your rough location though. You could always look up "sports massage" in your local directory.

Any qualified practicing massage therapist will be clean - it's the other thing which stricltly speaking isn't massage that gives the title masseuse a bad name.

Masseuse is gender specific, female. The term we would like you to use is Massage Therapist.
The AMTA is a clearing house for massage therapists and their website is chock full of therapists in Maryland. Go here to find your new therapist.

First of all..the P.C. term is "massage therapist". You might just get the "not clean" type if you start asking around for a good masseuse.
Try a chiropractic office, they usually have massage therapists and if you are lucky, your insurance may cover it.
You can also try local spas or look up "therapeutic massage" in the phone book.
