Hypothyroid and weightloss?!

Question: I am hypothyroid and I am having a really hard time with my weight. Does anyone have any suggestions or any experience with things that have helped them lose weight (besides the obvious)??

Thanks.

You need to first get the morning TSH around 1.0. Then exercise for at least 30 minutes 4-5 times a week. As far as diet, decrease carbs, increase fiber and avoid soy.

If that does not work, get the free t3 tested to make sure you are converting enough T4 into T3.

You also may want to take a fasting glucose and fasting insulin test. Many times the extra weight gained from hypothyridism can cause insulin resistance. Insulin resistance (prediabetes) makes it even more difficult to lose weight.

Eat a handful of nuts 30 minutes before every meal- the oils will help to trick your body into think you are full.

well first of all are u on any meds to help that out?I have hypothyroidism to. And meds is a start. Other then that i would say walk every day, drink plenty of water and eat right that is the only thing i could really say.

drinking a lot of water has helped me lose weight...i had the same problem.

I'm Hypo too, I have to excersise daily....sit ups and stomach crucnhes every other day...cut down on food intake, drink water, ice in soda pop, watch my carbs,, go to ebat and order or try to win 'relacore'..it seems to help..good luck

Obvious in the answer.

But just in case, see a doctor, correct the condition by treating it with drug and you will be a new person.

Hypothyroid or Hyper thyroid, condition can cause other serious health problems so think twice and have it corrected or at least keep it under control.

Thyroid gland and it's anatomy, physiology, pathology and function in health and disease is a very vast subject. The function of the thyroid gland is virtually going to affect every cell in the body and the expression of those cells and the respective organs. Do not take it lightly. Consult your doctor to have a proper diagnosis and treatment. Your doctor will know when to refer you to the endocrinologist
