Zicam and airborne, you can by them at any store...its a medicine that kinda takes a preemtive strike on colds...works great

sleep a lot so your body can heal

I need to know too. I was sick for X-Mas

i think the only way to get rid of a cold once you have it is wait it out or kill yourself.

ALEVE Cold and Flu. It will definitely get rid of the symptoms so you'll FEEL better within 1 hour of taking the first dose. It really works. You have to ask for it at the counter of the pharmacy (you can't just buy it off the shelf) but that's because it works so good. Trust me, you'll be recommending it to others once you try it.

drink a lot of chicken noodle soup!! it seriously helps you get better fast. my friend was sick, and she thought she'd be out of school for two weeks, but she was back after one because she drank a lot of chicken noodle soup. get well soon!! =)))

go to the drug store, and get Cold FX, it works unbelievably good. trust me. you just need to make sure you follow the instructions

emergen C. i was sick with mono over xmas break. i took 4 packets of emergenC a day, and OMMMGG. no lie. they work soo well. you can get them at Walgreens or any around town store.

cranberry tastes bad, though.

drink moonshine. And at night, rub down with vick's vaporizor on your chest and neck. Wrap up in a whole bunch of blankets and SWEAT! your cold should go away in a day or so.

Chicken soup. Get plenty of rest. Wash hands frequently so you don't reinfect yourself. Drink plenty of fluids.

That is SO cool! My name is Christina and I am in the exact same boat as you. I want my terrible cold to be gone by the time school starts again becasue show choir competitions start then. Hmmm. . . so, obviously I dunno what to do either. But, I'll tell you waht I am doing. I am drinking lots of tea. And not going outside much.
Get better soon!

Stay home! Sleep, drink lots of fluids and take Vitamin C daily. But the most important thing is stay home and rest. Avoid cold medications like NyQuil and DayQuil, as the drugs can really make you feel crappy and stay in your system for a couple of days.

Take Zicam, swipe inside your ears and nostrils with Q-tips dipped in hydrogen peroxide, drink lots of fluids, try drinking a teaspoon of raw, organic apple cider vinegar mixed with water once or twice a day to boost the immune system.

hi, I too am suffering a cold...I drink pure Aloe Vera juice to ease symptoms and use A V lip balm to keep cold sores at bay. Hope it works for you, by 30th....and for me too. Fingers crossed for us both :-)

oh um if you have a stuffy nose then try to put your head over a little steam machine thing (not to close tho!! i think thats what you can do for a stuffy nose)
if you have a headache then take like a tylonal (is that how you spell it??) or put a warm washcloth on your head
if that doesnt work then i hope you get better!!

No, - it must RUN ITS COURSE!

Just take PLENTY of FLUIDS, - to stop your body becoming DEHYDRATED, - and, get PLENTY of REST!

Sorry, if this doesn't HELP much, - and I hope you feel better, SOON!

START TAKING VITAMIN C TABLETS. I WAS RECENTLY TOLD TO EAT RAW/FRESH GARLIC TO RELIEVE A COLD. AS DISGUSTING AS IT SOUND, WITHIN 24 HOURS IT WORK. I WON'T SAY I WAS COMPLETELY CURED BUT THE CHEST PRESSURE RUNNING NOSE AND HEADACHE CONGESTION WAS GREATLY RELIEVED.

Take Airborne every 4 hours and you'll be better in about 2-3 days. Good luck.

i would get pleanty of rest, take vitamin c tablets

Keep doing what you're doing. The saying is: Treat a cold and it will last a week. Don't treat it and it will last seven days.

The old chicken soup remedy still stands. It makes you feel better, but I don't think it will hasten the recuperation.

Unfortunately, the only real answer anyone can give you is to drink lots of fluids, especially those high in vitamin C (like orange juice).

In addition to that, though, you can take two hot showers a day to loosen up the junk in your head and help with your discomfort, and sleep as much as possible. The more you sleep, the more you give your body time to recuperate.

In review:

1. Lots of liquids.
2. Lots of sleep.

Good luck!

A way that I know is to brew a small pot of tea. In this tea make sure that there is honey, lemon, a little orange and two shots of whiskey. Drink the pot during the day and make sure it hot. At night get your place as hot as possible get your thickest blankest take something that helps you sleep and you'll sweat the cold out. This is what works for me something my grandmother taught me.

Take zinc supplements! It really works! I've been doing this for years and studies have shown it will cut your cold in half be length and/or severity. (And I mean real scientific studies.) My family members tried it and were amazed at how well it works. Also, drink a lot of hot clear liquids like herbal tea and broth. This will help prevent you from losing your voice or getting a sinus infection dut to mucus clogging you up. It really does help. I used to lose my voice every time I got a cold, and now I drink hot decaf tea the whole time I have a cold and never lose my voice. Warm steamy showers also help a lot. Take care.

The common cold is usually caused by one of two types of virus. The thing about viruses is that your immune system has to go through a process in order to get rid of the infection.

Since viruses mutate using the DNA of their host, they are constantly changing. Your immune system will first have a general response during which it will try to keep the infection at bay while other immune cells identify the current intruder.

After the intruder is identified, your immune system creates special antibodies specific to that exact threat, but it takes a while to produce enough of them to make a difference, because, you have to remember, the viruses are multiplying too.

Finally, there are enough antibodies to start attaching to all of the intruders, which disallows the viruses from hijacking any more healthy cells, and allows the large phagocytic cells the chance to gobble up the viruses.

This whole process takes 7 to 10 days depending on the type of virus, and the shape the host's immune system is in. There's not much that can be done to speed this up I'm afraid.

try to boil some thyme and wreath and inhale their vapor. Do this frequently enough plus having tea and lemon

Hi!
So sorry to hear you are under the weather! Emergen-C and Cold-EEZE have worked the best for me. Take them every 4 hours and make sure you are washing your hands! Also, get those 8 hours + every night! Good luck,

Whenever I have a cold I make my chicken soup. The store ones have too much sodium.
I put onions, garlic, carrots, zuchinni, potatoes, corn and chicken and boil in water. Add salt to taste. Chicken needs to be cleaned and boiled first, then when it is cooked add veggies. They need to be fresh and not canned.
I also drink plenty of fluids, juices that are natural are good. They will keep you hydrated plus give you vitamins. I also love Airborne, it helps a lot because it has many vitamins. Best of all rest and stay indoors. Keep warm and wash hands frequently. Rest, rest, rest!!! Keep your self hydrated and you will be fine!!!! Good luck! Asprins etc. will only relieve pain but not take away the cold. Your body needs to fight it off, the vitamins help with this. Take care!

Good for a cold:
Mullein Tea, steep 5-8 minutes, drink hot with honey. Mullein grows naturally in much of North America and has been used for respiratory ailments for centuries.

Honey, a great natural cure all. To learn more about honey, look up Patrick Quillin. He has a great book called "Honey, Garlic and Vinegar"

Vinegar, we do 1 tsp in a glass of apple juice at the onset of any illness, knocks it back quite well. My daughter loves the drink.

Garlic - the final of the magic trio. We make it into a garlic butter and spread it on bread then grill (don't toast, it could ignite) You can also put it in a bit of oil to toss on your fresh greens, or toss into pasta. Garlic is great for colds.

Grapefuit Seed Extract, gargle with 10 drops in 6 oz of water and swallow. Great for sore throats, infections and yeast.

AVOID refined sugars. They are immune suppressants and will counteract your attempts to get better.

Saline Nasal Spray - 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 6 oz of warm water. Mix thoroughly, then use as drops or spray.

Take Vit C - 500 mg (standard dose) 2-3 times daily - at separate times since C is a water soluble vitamin and won't stay in your system for later. You need to redose at intervals. C is an antiviral.

Home made chicken soup really is good. Use ginger, thyme and sage to season.

Sleep, Garlic and echinacea and also a good probiotic. Shaklee has great products! Check out the website below.
