Low levels of Vitamin B12 can lead to low blood counts (anaemia), which can lead to falls or fainting. Our nerves also rely on Vitamin B12 for their health, and low Vitamin B12 levels can result in loss of nerve function and falls.
However many other conditions can cause giddiness and fainting including brain, heart, blood pressure and other nerve conditions and certain medications. It is important to see your GP about this problem. Your GP can test for Vitamin B12 deficiency and anaemia and look for other possible causes.

Dizzy spells, loss of balance and fainting are all symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. Take a multi B complex tablet including all the B's ie B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best together.

The B complex of vitamins is a water soluble complex and as such our bodies can neither store or produce them. Therefore we need to ingest them on a daily basis or suffer the consequences as you unfortunately appear to be ....... vitamin B12 in particular, deficiencies of which will manifest as headaches and migraines, nausea and vomiting, fatigue and exhaustion, irritability and moodiness, constipation, insomnia, excessive sweating, tingling and prickling and numbing sensations in the outer extremities, depression, dizzy spells and loss of balance, fainting, inability to concentrate and even chest pains and heart palpitations !! quite scary actually if you don't realise the vitamin factor.

Eat more foods rich in this vitamin ie: skimmed milks and cheeses, fish and eggs.

If you are lactose intolerant or vegetarian (as i am) then it is really important in aiding your body deal with all kinds of daily stresses for you to take a good quality multi B complex tablet on a daily basis. Get one that includes all the B's ie: B1, B2, 3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best as a group.

when you take your daily supplement ensure that you take it with some type of calcium rich food ie: low fat cheese or milk or a calcium supplement as B12 needs calcium to be properly assimilated by the body.

When our bodies are placed under added stress ie: sickness, new job, new home, school studies or just daily life really..... oh Christmas too will bring on the stress......... the B complex of vitamins are usually the first group to get used up and we therefore need to adjust our intake accordingly.

When you are getting any stress related symptoms or any of the above mentioned symptoms simply take another B tablet. As they are water soluble our bodies will simply excrete any excess in our urine.

Drinks loads of fresh filtered water to as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one.

Try to cut back on the things that will rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins too ie: caffeine, sodas and soft drinks, alcohol are all brilliant B complex thieves ......... things such as the oral contraceptives, eostroegen supplementation, antiobiotics, antidepressants, laxatives, aspirin, diuretics will all also do a great job of robbing you of your B's.

Happy holidays!!

CHEERS
?

Could be numerous things... blood pressure etc Best go to the docs & get it checked out.

It can be a lot of things, and it is a good idea to go to the doc to be safe, if you can.

Yes it is best that you go to the doctors, because it could mean various things. Maybe you are not eating enough, you dehydrated, you are stresses out, you have a disease, or you are starting to come down with a serious illness.

maybe ...........cause it stinked in the bathroom

have you been eating regularly?
could be from malnutrition
or maybe like drugs if you are taking them

Having a period doesn't necessarily rule out pregnancy. I had a period my first month. Test yourself.

I would talk to your dr about it asap. Fainting, dizziness and fainting could signal something more serious. As someone mentioned, perhaps it was blood pressure or perhaps something else. Please get a medical work-up without delay. The dr may want to send you for some bloodwork to help rule out anemia (iron deficiency), blood sugar problems or such. He or she may also want you to get a cat (computerized axial tomography) of the head just to be on the safe side. Wishing you great health!

We don't know your age, eating habits, history, medical history, what medications you are on or have been on nor if you are on birth control, sexually active as you can be 2 weeks pregnant because the egg is fertilized in your Fallopian tube where it ought to be while your uterus sheds last months cycle.

Therefore, you can't rule out pregnancy or it could be low blood sugar, dehydration, low iron, side affects from a statin drug, side affects from anti depressants a reaction to MSG or a reaction to Aspartame or something far sinister which may mean your a walking time bomb for stroke or heart attack.

Go see your doctor to rule out the worst and then take care of the rest through your dietary habits and maybe a chiropractor can assist you.

My thoughts:

I used to have that problem. I went to the MDs, and I kept fainting, and they said I was healthy. I went to the chiropractor and he diagnosed my birth defect which was causing it. It had taken 8 years for it to affect my back by compensating spine before I started fainting (first time was in 3rd grade right in the middle of class). The chiro straightened up my spine and I haven't fainted in 25 years!! Now, mind you, I was fainting since I was about 8 years old, until I was 20. So, I don't think it is the same for you.

But, instead of the MDs, try a chiro or naturopath. They may be better able to find the root cause and get you going back in the right direction. They are also more likely to refer you to someone else if they can't figure it out. An MD will most likely send you home to faint again. Remember too, not all cause and effect is immediate. So don't just look to the first fainting incident and try to figure it out; it could be a condition caused by something well before the first spell. You may need to go back further. Triggers didn't even help for me, the triggers were random. Do try to think if any other health issues are new. Is there anything new in your diet? No artificial sweeteners or ingredients you didn't use before? Try to think of things like that.

I hope you figure it out.

Too much dieting and too rapid a weight loss can cause you to feel weak, tired and faint with actual fainting spells. This cause is probably not relevant in your case.

Insufficient sleep can cause exhaustion and sometimes fainting but that cause is probably not relevant in your case either.

It could be due to low blood pressure. If your blood pressure is below 90/60 then you are probably suffering from low blood pressure.

There could be lots of other reasons and if it keeps on happening then you may have to see your doctor.

It could be a number of things.

Are you eating right?
Is your blood pressure normal?

See your doctor about this.
