Question: Hi it is called reflexology because all parts of the body are reflected in the hands and feet. Eunice Ingham an american physiotherapist in the 1930's looked at the idea of the bodys functions being able to be accessed on the reflex points in the feet and hands and mapped out the reflex points so that others could use the technique.

This is one of the great mysteries of life. I think "glorified foot massage" would be a lot more accurate.
It is very relaxing though. I don't personally think it can affect organ function though. I'd be happy to read through Grays Anatomy with you.
