Salvia can be fun but of all hallucinogens it ranks low on the list for me in terms of enjoyment. A salvia "trip" lasts usually 5-15 minutes if the herb is smoked. During this time one experiences what I would describe as confusion. You will look at things you see everyday and question why they are there and what they do. You make look at your best friend and not recognize him. Some claim to experience visual and or auditory hallucinations though I have not.

I have tried concentrations of salvia ranging between 20-60x. 20x is quite strong and you really need only a pinch. START SMALL! I have found you have to smoke salvia a few times before any effect is noticed. For best results sit in a comfortable, quiet place with no distractions. If anyone is watching you (recommended for first time) make sure they don't speak or your trip may be shortened.

Have fun and give mushrooms a try.

Yes. It gave me a major headache and can make people really violent. But I'm not discouraging experimentation. I think everyone should experiment, just be safe. I hear if you do it right it's an incredible experience. Guess I just didn't do it right :)

I have never heard of 21x (its possible to make, I just see no reason not to make a round number like 20).

I have tried 5x, 10x, 20x, and 40x, and some leaves.

10x is still very strong, but 20x is generally the way to go. 20x sent me into another world. I forgot where I was, who I was and all of the objects in the room meshed together and formed a schoolyard. The guitar chords from my computer speakers turned into nazi "cells" and began bombarding me.

Ive done salvia numerous times, and have had almost every kind of trip. But ever since my "nazi guitar" trip, Ive steered clear for a while.

Just make sure you do it right. That means these things:
1. preferably use a torch lighter, it gets all of the chemical out quicker.
2. a water pipe, so you have (a) more room for smoke and (b) cooler, less harsh smoke.
3. a safe environment, where you can trip peacefully without being disturbed for 30 minutes.
4. hold the smoke in at least 20 seconds, and hold it DEEP in your lungs, not in your mouth. This means after taking the hit, you should breath in normal air, to get the smoke all the way in your lungs. Works like a charm for me =]

Optional:
a sitter. I suggest for your first 1 or 2 tries you have someone sit quietly and watch you, for your own [mental] saftey.
