I quit smoking after 24 years. Cold turkey. OF all the times I tried to quit...I deep down didn't really want to. This time I did. First I set a target date to quit...6 months on my birthday. That was going to be my gift to me. So I enjoyed it for 6 more months. When it came time I was able to lay them down. Third day was the worst for cravings. I had to change habits too. Long story on that...but I have been smoke free now for a little over 6 months and going on a cruise for 7 days this saturday with the money I have saved. Feels great!! Good luck to you. You can do it if you REALLY want to, but you have to REALLY want to quit.

I smoked for 33 years. Attended a group hypnosis session, bought and used a reinforcement relaxation tape. Have not smoked for 17 years.

I quit 15 months ago. Hypnosis. I firmly believed it was about the HABIT more than the nicotine. It was my second attempt. I gained 10 pounds (since lost them).
I cannot imagine smoking now. I don't mind the smell, or a dirty ashtray, none of that. I just don't think I'll ever smoke again.
This is where I went. I know you wont go there, but its general info on hypnosis, prices, etc.

Tim's right, you have to really want it. I was prepared to do ANYTHING to quit. Oh, I smoked for about 25 years.

Nicotrol inhaler! They require a prescription, and insurance typically won't cover them, but i highly recommend it all the same. They don't have any side effects like some medications do. They also help with the "oral fixation", or, need to feel like your smoking. They aren't as good as cigarettes, but they are pretty damn close. The first day of using them, I kicked my pack a day habit. Also, after about 2 weeks, the need to use them also diminished.

these people really care. If you sign up
they pretty much brainwash you into wanting
to quit. what do you have to lose if you tried everything else?
