Grapefruit Seed Extract - liquid - 10 drops in 6 oz of water. Gargle (swallow if you want). Follow it with a strong juice like grapefruit or pineapple if you want - the GSE is pretty strong tasting. Pineapple will soothe the sore throat.

Honey is great for colds, add it to your tea or just take a teaspoonful.

Mullein tea is amazing for colds. It has long been used as a remedy for anything respiratory. Steep for 5-8 minutes, add honey. It is mildly flavored, so nothing nasty.

You can find the GSE and Mullein tea at your local health food store, or online at http://www.iherb.com (not affiliated, just where I get my stuff - good prices, good service).

You can also take a teaspoon of apple sicer vinegar in a glass of apple juice a couple times a day.

Garlic will help too, we do a garlic butter with 1 tablespoon butter and a crushed clove of garlic. Butter bread and grill (don't toast, the butter could ignite in the toaster), or put it on your favorite cooked pasta.

CUT OUT all refined sugars, they are immune suppressants and will make your body work harder to get well. You can do honey, molasses, turbinado and Stevia.

Vit C - 500mg twice daily (separate times as it is water soluble and won't stick around in the body if it doesn't use it right away).

100% juices only, and plenty of water.

Hope you feel better soon.

Drink microwave ribena or just drink loads of freezing cold water and take some handy cough sweets like "Soothers" The "locket" ones are horrible

Euchinacea drops take 5 drops three times a day provided you are not over 65 and then take three drops three times a day.

Do not take this if you have immune system problems

Take anything elderberry as it stops bugs getting into the body. Thus they can't live, Elderberry is suitable as cordial, wine, jam or capsules.

[Cranberry does this for the lower half of the body and elderberry for the throat, lungs etc]

I took "cold reduce" homeopathic medicine and it works great everytime. And for sore throat, marshmallow root and clove tea.

Please don't bother with homeopathic remodies until you read the history of what it is. You'll laugh I promise. cold drinks for comfort and aspirin dude. or just be a man and take the pain for a couple of days and let you body get used to fighting minor infections

This is my favorite winter tonic.
Wilted Romaine Lettuce

3 small bunches (or 2 medium bunches of Romaine lettuce)
2 medium onions, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 lb mushrooms sliced or quartered
Fried, drained bacon bits (optional) or
1/2 lb fried, drained Tofu cubes (optional)

You can fix this in a large skillet or a very large saucepan....
Saute the tofu separately (or the bacon first). Then saute the onions and the garlic and the mushrooms and add the tofu (or bacon). Drain off excess frying oil but leave some in for flavor. Wash Romaine lettuce leaves and separate them.Put the Romaine lettuce leaves in the skillet.Put enough apple cider vinegar to go up 1/4 of the side of the skillet , then add water so that the skillet has 1/2 full of vinegar water(ie equal vinegar and water). Simmer this covered, turning lettuce as needed with a large spoon..until the leaves are wilted thoroughly (the main vein of the leaves will be slightly crunchy..that is okay.) Serve hot

pine apple juice is great for pain relief.

Echinacea 1000 mg supplement once a day also try juice and pulp of 2 fresh lemons spoon in some good quality honey and drink that hot instead of tea.
