The dangers of Ectasy (true or false)?!
Question: I've listened to many peoples opinions on ecstasy and ive come to the conclusion that the drug hasn't been widly used for long enough to determine how harmfull it really can be. Im a strong bielever that ciggerretes are far worse than most drugs deemed illigal in the USA, And saying that, i havnt heard any stories ( Decluding people who have misused it ( OD'D ) or have taken other drugs simotaniosly.) That have been deadly, Actully on the contrary ive heard some excellent stories, Positive stories, Not ones you would normally hear about being high on a drug. But like i said i dont think its been around long enough to know enough about its long term effects.

Pure MDMA is extremely dangerous. Your statements are the reason why marijuana should not be illegal. People think that just because the government is stupid enough to consider weed a schedule 1 narctotic, that they're lying about other drugs. Ecstasy works by flooding your brain with serotonin (it essenitally dumps all of it out at once). Repeated use causes the death of huge numbers of brain cells. In fact, if you look at the brains of heavy users, you can actually see holes large enough to stick your finger through. MDMA has been around a pretty long time. It has undergone numerous drug trials because it was created as a prescription drug. The reason it didn't stay is because of how deadly and essentially usless it is. I know how much fun ecstasy is. I spent much of my teen years partying and have tried some of the best pills known to man (I'm a science geek, not a loser). Thankfully, I only used them a few times. The people who used them all the time are so different these days. My friend Jay hardly even speaks English anymore because his brain is so fried. Other friends died from overdoses. The government may be lying its as$ off about weed, but it's not lying about ecstasy.

These drugs are extremely fun, but extremely addicting and deadly. Some things are just too good. The price of addiction to any of these drugs is death.
i think this is iffy. they say that it puts holes in your brain. also, you never really know WHAT is in it because it is made by people that sometimes they don't really know what they are doing. i think it is a hit or miss thing. sometimes people can have a good pill or one that would end their life.
i used to be a fan when i was younger and then i just decided that i had enough and never used it ever again. that was when the whole rave scene was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s.
It CAN be very harmful. First off, you can never be sure you what you are getting. As with any drug, there is no way for you to know what is, or isn't in it. I had a friend completely freak out on Ecstasy once, and actually ended up in the hospital for a few days. Be careful with that stuff, you could be taking poison. But if you want to take that risk to get high, go for it!

I saw the news report in the late 1980'a and it was very sad to see young people unable to retract ther legs and hands, totally stiff and in pain being lifted off of a gurney to a wheel chair by nurses.

In my observation and understanding of all 87 hormones in the human body that are in charge of moods, focus, sleeping patterns, depression, bone density, and in which only 17% are for reproduction... I say that any drug that alters dopamine levels is dangerous in the long run if used enough.
We never know who has a genetic disposition to getting permanent damage to their autonomic nervous system when taking it, so its sort of like a Russian Roulette with people.
As I'm truly against medical drugs that alter the mind, I'm against any synthetic street drug that alters the mind. Drugs may give a false sense of security, a few hours of feeling incredibly care free, and a false sense of belonging by supressing real consciousness, etc.

Look, the bottom line? Taking any drug that makes you want to f*ck anything on two legs that walks by you is gawd awful to me, because when you come down crashing hard... Your wondering why and what the heck you just did the night before.

To be honest, there are very few dangers of MDMA (Ecstasy) in itself. The LD-50 (average lethal dose) is relatively high, which means that an "overdose" level of MDMA would be quite difficult to achieve accidentally. However, the real danger in MDMA lies in what it does to the individual and water. It will either make you incredibly thirsty, which will result in "Water Poisioning" (I actually knew a kid who almost died from drinking a gallon of water in about 90 minutes). For other people, it will make them not thirsty at all, which normally wouldn't be too bad, however, since ecstasy raises the body temperature and makes one become more active, it can lead to severe dehydration. It's not so much the MDMA itself you have to worry about, it's the side effects.
If you have never done ecstasy before it is hard to make that judgment. As with all drugs you have to be smart when you take them. You have to make sure you are in a safe environment, you can't over do it and take too much, you just have to be prepared. I am a big advocate of drug use as long as you are safe and smart about it. I think the experience you have on certain drugs is amazing and can almost be life changing in a positive way. However, over using drugs is deadly and dangerous. When you take ecstacy it literally sucks all the fluid from your brain so if you were to fall, get in a car accident (of course you shouldn't be the one driving) or other bumps on the head you could very easily die. And when they say it makes your brain feel like mush, it really does. Ecstacy is very hard on your body. I have had an ecstacy hang over for several days before and they are not fun. E was made at a company called Merck. There they studied to have povistive effects. Till they found out it was putting holes in your brain. Yes no lie the more you do the more your brain looks like swiss cheese. Thats why merck does not make it no more. The drug was for familys that didn't get along and whould make them happy and like each other. Well it worked every thing was great even the touch of that big fat girl down the street.
