A homeopathic combination headache formula will work well. You could also try magnesium, 200 mg 2-3 times daily. Reduce the dosage if diarrhea occurs. It has been shown to be very effective for migraine headaches, and tension headaches too.
Feverfew, 250-500 mg daily. Very effective for reducing the frequency, severity and duration of migraines.
5 HTP, 50-100 mg 3 times a day. It's very effective in treating migraine and tension headaches. It has a direct effect on serotonin levels, which affect circulation in the blood vessels in the brain, and increases the body's endrophin levels ( natural painkillers). Do not use if you're taking pharmaceutical antidepressants or anti anxiety medications.
Calcium relaxes the nervous system, the muscles and blood vessels, making ti helpful for all types of headaches but especially for tension headaches.
Gingko Biloba improves circulation to the brain and has an anti-platelet activity. Take 60 mg 2-3 times a day.
White Willow Bark contains salicin, the ingredient from which aspirin is derived. It is a highly effective pain reliever that's much easier on the stomach and the entire body than it's pharmaceutical counter part. Take 60-120 mg daily.

i have liver problems and so can not take pain meds so i use camomile tea not very tasty but it helps to calm you also.

could help

i take excedrin

St. John's Wort, Peppermint, feverfew, motherwort are all herbs I would consider taking for a tension head. Sounds like you are having migraines instead of tension headache. Is the pain all on one side, do you have sensitivity to light. A regular tension headache should not last that long.. Meditation and relaxation are a necessary plus message therapy might also help.

Good luck

Grind a teaspoon of pepper add little hot water and make it as a paste(paste must be in light warm condition) and apply it on the fore head. You have remedy
