Try about a quarter of a gram to start with and reduce or increase until you find a dosage that relieves the pain without getting you stoned.

Don't just eat it on it's own as it passes through the stomach to quickly, either dissolve it in warm milk for a few minutes (recommended) or add to a cake mix (mix with the butter) or at a pinch crumble onto a piece of buttered bread.
Animal or vegetable fats IE. milk, butter, margarine dissolve the active ingredients and make them easier to digest.

The active ingredients (THC THD) are not soluble in water so making "Tea" in the normal way is a waste.

Dihydrocodein and Morphine are highly addictive Opiates and the human body quite quickly builds a tolerance to these drugs eventually leading to a situation were an effective dose is a LETHAL dose

I see ur point with it but taking it may cause a whole new set of probs? what about addiction or the lazy after affects it gives you?

A guy who lives near to me buys it for his mum. She is 82 and in severe pain of she doesn't have it. He buys grass though and they make a tea with it which she sips throughout the evening. Maybe try getting a bit of green for him and try it out. If using solids I would grate it in small quantities (use a nutmeg grater) and bake it into fairy cakes. This method also really works and cooking it makes it have a better effect xxxxxx

he would be better off smoking it and two or three bowls of it should do the trick he wont feel it in the morning the effects dont usually last overnight good luck and be safe

Swallowing it won't do any good. It needs to be heated to release the necessary chemicals. If he is unwilling to smoke it, then it can be cooked in cakes and or biscuits. I make flapjacks for my mother who also uses it for arthritis.

Have you tried alternatives? I.e tiger balm, my mum uses that on her artheritis also im not 100% sure he would be ok to drive the next day, cannabis can take up to a month to get completly out of the system and can show up on a roadside test for 24 hours after smoking/taking it. If you do decide to administer it rember its like smoking cigarettes...if you have never smoked before and then u smoke 2 packs...ull be sick. Its the same with cannabis., start really small maybe even like a quater of an 1/8th in a tea cake.

Surely this is one for the doctor to prescribe painkillers-
possibly. I thought medical cannabis was being tested without the usual damaging effects,he could ask the doctor about that.
Otherwise theres the option of consulting a herbalist or alternative doctor-at least the dangers would be minimal.
The private hospital below could also offer some sensible alternatives.

well, its not bad as a pain killer but it tends to work better on soft tissue than bone pain, for some reason. It is one of the best and original birthing herbs.
Nothing wrong with trying it, and I know some people will lecture but then it isn't their pain, is it? Ignore them if it happens eh. If he smokes anyway, try a tiny amount, say enough to cover a little toenail and keep upping until some change is noted.
If he doesn't smoke, a vapouriser would do the job but they tend to use a bit more cannabis. Or tea if it is good quality leaf - about a teastrainer full in a half pint of boiling water, cover and leave to steep for about 20 minutes - but don't bother using skunk, it isn't the same and doesn't carry many of the benefits of cannabis as an unhybridised 'superstrain' so it might just get him wasted but leave him in as much pain, which might not be much fun.
note:"Lazy after effects"?? if the poor bloke's crippled with arthritis, I can't see 'laziness' being that much of an issue.

I too suffer badly with Osteo-arthritis. I'm not so sure that cannabis as a long term analgesic is going to be that much help. Since, as you say, your friend is in a lot of pain, he can get pain relief analgesics from his GP - one of them used to work for me - say to the GP - DF 118 - these are Dihydrocodeine (30Mg) and Paracetamol (500Mg). Alternatively, your friend can get morphine 'patches' from the GP - either Buprenorphine or Fentanyl.

I don't know if "swalloing" is a good idea..
have you also tried Dr Vogels' products for arthritis?
he is very good & his herbs are made high up in the Swiss mountains & everything I have treid from his range has been excelent & really worked;
