Yes you do lose some weight. This is by far not junk science, which you shall see once you see (if you get the gross opportunity) as it leaves your body. Many things grow within an unhealthy colon, including parasites. Scientist give the estimate of 10 - 15 pound is lost do to the fecal matter. They can not, however, give an exact number because it will vary between person and depending on what has been occuring within the body. During Elvis Presley's autopsy they found 65 pounds in his colon. You will not lose fat, so do not think that. But all of the waste. It will take more than one though and between 1-2 a year to keep it up. You will find many health benefits such as clearer skin and a wonderful lightness and sense of well being as well. There are also herbal detoxification methods. You will need to make sure you eat things such as yogurt to replenish certain nutrients. What is lost in the cleanse, QUICKLY is renewed. Because they can not thrive in an unhealthy colon. I can not personally do the herbal detox because I eat because I like the taste of food. So a 7 - 60 day fast is out of the question. But doing a colonic and then chaging certain things in your diet slowley will help. I would recommend adding more natural fiber to your diet as well. I hope this helps.

Junk science. The idea that feces cling to your colon wall is crazy. Your mucosa secretes a slippery substance that keeps this from happening and the rhytmic contractions keep everything moving. An occasional enema is okay for bad constipation, but for cleansing purposes or to lose weight, craziness........

I only had one done a few years ago and it was a gravity colonic (not using a pressurized machine) and it was completely useless and I don't believe it was even performed correctly. But since then I've read so much bad stuff about them that I'm hesitant to ever do one again as much as the idea of getting "cleaned out" by a colonic or enema appeals to me. It is possible for you to lose a lot of electrolytes and throw yourself out of whack. Also, during the procedure a lot of beneficial intestinal bacteria is washed away and it should be replaced; some therapists give you a drink afterwards.

From what I've read about losing weight, you aren't going to lose any. You're just removing a little bit of "crap" from your colon which doesn't account for much weight. One would have to do them quite often (which is dangerous) to lose weight, I believe. Just make sure you do your research.

Even though I'm skeptical of them I'm still interested in getting another one myself. After your colonic, if you could e-mail me or post on this question what the experience was like and what you're feeling like I would appreciate it.
