Start relaxing a couple of hours before bed time. Don't do anything that takes a lot of mental activity (like video games). Light a candle. Drink some hot tea or cocoa. Maybe that will help.

calms forte---bella dona

nothing :)

get rosie odonnell to tuck you in every night

take meletonan

Talk to your doctor. You could have something wrong with you.

well if your home all day your not going to get tired sooo its good if you do something to make u tired by the end of the day

r u stressed about something?

maybe if you're really stressed you are kept awake

rub a bit of lavender oil on your temples, remember to check whether it safe on your skin, also try drinking a cup of warm milk, relax and de wind by massaging yourself in some nice oil and bath

work hard that makes me sleep if not just do extra carricular activities it makes u tired .....

Perhaps you need more exercise. Stress can cause it too.

you need to set yourself on a better schedule

is it possible you could be transient insomniac ??
i am.. i had to go to the doctor for tht and they prescribe you sleeping stuff =]

eat alot of date

i dont know of anything stronger than ambien other than 2 ambians

sleep with a lavender sachet under your pillow / do loads of excersise in the day so as u r worn out wen u go 2 bed / dont wake up so late

If you cannot sleep then do not force yourself to sleep after sometime you will be tired and you will sleep.

Try reading or relaxing before you fall to sleep that might help you.

I'm exactly the same way and always have been. I can't get to sleep worth crap.

The best thing that has helped me is guided meditation CDs. I use Doreen Blumenfeld's Journey into Healing Light and Journey into Deep Relaxation all the time. They are on iTunes.

In addition, I start mental shut down around 7pm. I start being less active physically, then mentally, until I say it's time for bed and go crawl in bed. It helps me wind down to a point where I can sleep.

You may want to try valerian root and melatonin (herbal supplements) as well. Sleeping pills have never worked for me, but these two help calm the mind.

Are you active? Get out and exercise. Do house work, yard work, go walk the mall. Keep yourself so busy during the day, that by 8pm you are worn out! Before bed, take your sleeping aide to keep you alseep for the night. Your body needs a consistant sleep routine. Nothing is wrong with you!

Talk to a doctor if you feel something else is wrong. (ie. Depression, stress.)

If you inject the ambien I GARUANTEE that it will put you to sleep. That or take another one I dont know

WOW that happens to me all the time..im always up tight...thats why..Dont take pills ,i would advice you..
Never stay in your bed or even bedroom when you cant sleep..that place is where you ll go and get rest when you need it..otherwise you relate your bed to your insomnia and thats not good at all...itll affect the rest of your "sleeping"(without sleep maybe..) days..
Drink some milk..milk works;)..it has some specific ingredients..,read a book..or if youre not tired just do some crunches and jumping jacks..youll feel a bit tired after 30'minutes:P..no seriously now im doing that all the time:P
Try not to think of anything bad or something that makes you feel anxious..just leave them for..the next day..relax your brain..im trying to do the same cause i tend to be thinking all the time about everything..so if your brain is a non-stop thinking machine just unplug it :P
Hope these small tips to help..but dont take pills..theyll do it worse..and then the more pills you take, the less effective they become to your nervous system..Oh and take some vitamins like from the B category..B6,B12 theyre for your nervous system;)Sleep tight tonight:P

Depression and/or underlying anxiety is the major cause of sleeplessness.

You need to find help with those issues rather than trying remedies or medications for not being able to sleep.

Running or walking in clear open air is also a great "sleeping" pill - not because of physical exhaustion. Anxiety and depression cause shallow breathing so your body is deprived of cleansing fresh air.

Yoga classes can also be helpful - not because of the exercise, which is good. Yoga practice teaches deep, cleansing breathing.

Exercise, melatonin or that Calm Forte. Check with your doc as well.

I have the same problem, I am going to look up that stuff Tina suggested! I think we have anxiety or stress...

But the Rosie answer was funny!!!!!!!!!!
