take aloe vera capsules or flax oil capsules at night with warm milk.

Prune juice will help almost within a few hours, but its really nasty and if you do drink it drink with ice cubes helps a little bit... or apple juice if your not in server pain that should help with the process of it also...

two or three bowls of raisin bran will take care of it forsure. or three bran muffins.

How uncomfortable for you! I have found that the stewed prunes in a jar work far better for me than the juice alone.

I remember scouring all over London to find some when I was visiting there from France for a week. Forty years ago now (wow!)

Sorry to tell you this, but just because you are a "veggy" doesn't mean your diet is "ok". You don't get any protein or beneficial fats (yes some are good) for most vegetables, and many vegetarians consume more junk food than normal diets. This could be part of your problem with constipation, and not helping the lupus in any way. Make sure you're eating enough fiber, and try prune juice, apple juice, apple cider.

powdered vit C
three heaping tablespoons in a glass of water.
and be sure to stay at home.

Another absolutely great thing to use is flax seed. You need to have a coffee grinder, and grind the flax seed just a bit to break it up. Then you take one or two tablespoons of this with a full glass of water every day. It will un-stop your elimination system without fail. As well, the flax seed also has a lot of minerals, and all the B vitamins. Many doctors here recommend the flax seed for people who have lupus.

Oh yes, keep the ground seed in the fridge, as it goes into a rancid condition easily.

Perhaps you are deficient in Magnesium?? Magnesium is needed in the human body for helathy nerves and muscle functioning and for heart health. Magnesium rich foods will aide in eliminating constipation problems for you.

Eat more foods rich in this wonderfull little mineral ie: leafy and green vegies, nuts and seeds, wholegrain breads and cereals and cold water fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting.

Magnesium is also known as the antistress mineral and will help you deal with stressy situations better.

You say that you have anaemia, did you know that if you don't have sufficient vitamin B12 in your system then no matter how much iron you ingest it will never be assimilated as iron needs vitamin B12 to properly assimilate in your body...... therefore, if you are deficient in vitamin B12 you will also be showing symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia!!

***edit*** sorry, i realise that you are vegetarian, but you really do need to supplement with a multi B complex tablet to get sufficient of these vitamins in your diet simply because you are vegetarian ........ also, another good point to make is that the antiobiotics that you are on will be doing a great job of ripping you off of your precious B complex of vitamins

The B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning??
****

Eat more foods rich in vitamin B12 also ie: skimmed milks and cheese, fish and eggs. If you are lactose intolerant simply go get yourself a multi B complex supplement including all the B's ie: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best as a group. The B complex of vitamins is a water soluble complex and as such our bodies can neither store or produce them, therefore we need to ingest them on a daily basis.

Also, eat more foods rich in Vitamin C as vitamin C is a natural laxative ie: oranges, lemons and limes, leafy and green vegies, tomatoes, potatoes and red and green capsicums. Vitamin C rich foods will also bolster your immune system and help in lowering blood pressure.

Try to cut back on dehydrating drinks such as those containing caffeine ie: soft drinks and sodas, coffee, tea and also alcohol will dehydrate you........... for just one cup of coffee you need to replace it will 2 cups of water because the caffeine tricks our brains into thinking that we have ample water supply and encourages the body to urinate much needed fluid from our body!!
