Why did Clemens have a lidocaine and vitamin B12 injection?!

Answers: What was the point of it?
That's the 100,000 dollar question. Why did he use a numbing agent? Did he have a prescription? If so, what for? Lidocaine is not a common self administered drug that the average Joe uses.

I'd like to think clemens is innocent. I guess he is until proven guilty, but the story is not very easy to believe.

B-12 the experts say is somewhat common and some players use it.
