My face is broken out from Accutane?!
Question: I've been on 20mg of Accutane for about 2 months. My face is sooo broken out its horrible!! I'm embarrassed to go back to school. I dont know what to do...is this normal?? I weigh 125, do you think a higher dosage would be better??

It is normal in Accutane therapy.I know it is hard for you but trust me it will get better.Nothing in my opinion works for acne as well as Accutane.
Some doctors will aso prescribe an antibiotic with it altough rarely in very bad cases of cystic acne.
No dont increase the dosage,keep it low and stay on it longer,and gradually wean yourself of it.
Applying a topical antibiotic to pimples is also a good idea.
Dont panic and drink lots of water,and stay out of the sun.
I have heard many people have the same complaint with Accutane. I would call your determatologist and ask. (If you haven't already, try ProActive or a similar type product. I didn't have much luck with it, but a lot of people do. I actually had more success with Clinique's acne treatment.) Good luck! :)
