Does Valerian Root actually help you fall asleep and stay asleep?!


Question: i want a pill that will help me sleep that is natural and so i will stay asleep, i wake up almost everynight and its hard to fall asleep.........

Yes, valerian root works but like most commercial over the counter and prescription sleep medicines it leaves an unpleasant after effect. No matter how hard it is, you must (MUST!!) avoid getting dependent on anything in order to sleep. You are much better off without being dependent on medication, you will sleep better, sleep more naturally, and awaken better and feel better by just doing it naturally, and that includes avoiding valerian root even though it will work.

Remember, even cyanide is natural. "Natural" doesn't mean safe.

I have used Valerian Root, but I hated the drugged feeling it gave me.

try to read a book or somethin to fall sleep

Try 5htp. It's an amino-acid. Buy it from health food stores or over the 'net.

Take 50-100mg each night with a carbo snack or some milk.

It helps you get off to sleep and improves the quality of the sleep. You won't wake up feeling 'groggy' either.
