there's nothing you can do. it's over, he's to deep in the downward spiral.

maybe, just maybe, you can use a combo of xanax and high grade H to ween him off...

OR

sit him down and ask him a serious question... explain they're is no in-between with marijuana, you are either clean or a habitual user. No one who smokes more than the occasional joint or two a year can maintain a balance. Having smoked for 4 years he probably already knows this. Then explain that, given that fact, he only he has two paths concerning this decision... smoking or not. Ask him to consider all things, to be honest with himself, and think about if smoking is really the path that leads to a happier life. If he says it is, then he isn't ready to give it up yet, and you're just gonna have to wait for him to grow up and let reality set in. If he realizes that he really would be happier giving it up, provide support... don't get pissed if he slips up and smokes, or he'll just end lying to you about it.

and kisk... jesus. don't believe you're middle school health teacher. marijuana is addictive both physically and mentally. severe withdraw symptoms are not present because thc takes weeks to work itself out of your system, but lab rats injected with thc and then given an antagonist went into withdraw so serious that many had seizures, went into commas, and even died. and your pot isn't laced with anything, never has been, never will.

you cant... theres just a point in life where you dont need it anymore

If he wants to smoke it, you can't make him change. The only thing you get to decide is if you're going to stick around or not.

pot is not actually addictive unless it's laced with something. someone can be addicted to the way it makes them feel, but pot is not an addictive drug.

you can't MAKE them quit. you can point out the downsides of pot and the long term effects of using it, but there isn't a whole lot you can do. good luck, though!

He has to quit because he wants to, not because you want him to. If he is not commited to quiting nothing you do will 'make' him quit. You can chose to break up with him because of it, you can ask him to quit and if he cares enough he will, or you can accept it.

Get a new BF & have some self-respect for yourself, ppl who do drugs are weak minded/hearted, they choose to do it then at the end play the victim, if u was smart and secure enough u wud get a bf who is smart, civilised doesnt need drugs to feel normal or get a high, ppl who do drugs dont enjoy normal buzz and therefore are cowards, yes cowards, why is it that slim tall attractive ppl never go into drugs & have a successful life and relationships, girls who only stay with junkies are weak, insecure and unattractive & know they cant do better so stick with their junkie bfs, lol, this is true, if ppl really wanan quit they can rightaway, trust me.

well just dont cause him stress about quitting. because if my gf was constantly on me about quitting id likely smoke more.

you should talk to him calmly. and never get mad or anything, but just start slowly giving him less attention and soon he will realize that hes losing you. its important though that you constantly show him love, and express alot of love when he is doing something productive.

when he decides he wants to quit. make sure he is constantly doing something so he doesnt get bored. and buy a bunch of sleeping pills and have him take vitamin c and e alot. (i hear it helps ppl trying to quit smoking, could just be a placebo though)

anyway i smoked dank daily for about 2 years then a month ago decided to quit. i did the above spent alot of time at school and work and working on my car to keep me busy.

now i have more money, lost weight, and in general have a better life.

If you want him to quit just ask him to quit.
Was he a pot head when you hooked up with him? If so, you will not succeed in getting him to quit.
After all, if you were given a turtle as a pet and you wanted a puppy, there is nothing you can do to make that turtle turn into a puppy.
Learn to live like there is no tomorrow.

asdfds, I don't know where you get your information from, BUT weed isn't addictive! Sounds like you work at a REHAB!
Anyway, girl you can't MAKE him stop, If this is bothering you so bad then you need to bail out of this relationship...
There are several reasons a person protakes in Weed... I know that persons with Albinism it helps with the eyes.
Being a "toker" is a life style choice. And It isn't a bad thing there are more dangerous drugs out there. If it wasn't meant to be used the tell me why GOD placed it here?
We can't change anybody we can only change our selves!
