How can one release the body's natural endorphins?!

Question: hi, is there any way to naturally release your own body's endorphins? ive heard of people talk about a "natural high", what is it and how does one achieve this state? i suffer from depression and would really like to know how this can happen. are there any natural supplements that truly can help one feel happier and have more energy without the side effects of addiction or other problems? also, does anyone here take prozac? my doc has had me on it for a while, 40 mgs but i feel crappy anyhow, what is the dose that finally worked for anyone here taking it? thank you.

Exercise, walking, etc.
I was were you were at one point in my life.
I found that going out with friends like a night in the town always works walking around laughing having a good time, worked for me. Just getting out in the fresh air and enjoying being outside. Because I noticed with depression you don't want to get out of bed you don't want to do anything. So def. force yourself out of bed and go out with friends and just try and enjoy yourself you will notice withen one day of having a really good day/night def. makes you feel better.
Also play the wii =]

doing excercise relaeses be happy endorphines :) its true :) also laughing does too

I find that hot chilli or hot curry dishes do it for me. The spiciness causes endorphines to be released, much the same as in distance running.
Don't do prozac it is bad news.

The problem with drugs is that there are side affects, and you either become too dependent upon them or you need to up the dosage when you become used to them. Runners get what's called a runner's high. You can read about it below. I remember that when I ran years ago (a lot), I had better health, positive attitude and needed only 4 hours of sleep a night.

endurance actvity that has your heart rate pumping!

Exercise & sex!

Proper nutrition, exercise, and good sleep will aways assist in improving your mood and regular exercise will naturally release the endorphins. I play sports regularly, basketball and soccer alternately for seasons, and notice a significant difference when I cannot play or exercise.

If you want to improve generally in this direction to reduce depression I recommend a good supplementation to your current diet with increased water intake, Glyconutrients, PhtyoSterols, AntiOxidant (ORAC of over 10,000), and some Phtyo-Based vitamin supplementation.

Add regular exercise and ensure you get good rest and you will begin to feel better. Its not as fast as a drug, but as your body begins to work better and get what it needs every day, you will begin to feel a better sense of well being.

And a plus, what I recommend above is all just food for your body or change in lifestyle, no adverse effects will be seen and no interactions with anything else you are taking (unless it is fast food or some other unhealthy intake).
