...Sleep??!

Question: I have a real battle trying to fall asleep at night. I end up staying awake close to morning, but then I sleep in. My sister gets upset that I sleep in until the afternoon. It is so problematic while I attend school. I can't seem to control this cycle. I've tried teas, holistic remedies, and listen to classical music at night. It's just that when I'm out, I'm out. I try hard to get up at 6 am, so that I can go to sleep at night. However, when both my alarm clocks go off, it seems futile that I shut them off and sleep. My best friend has the same problem I've mentioned here.

You've got to get yourself on what's called a "circadian schedule." That means when your alarm goes off at 6am you STAY UP!! Napping is NOT ALLOWED during the day. Sure, you'll be real tired for a few days, but then your body will get used to this schedule. And you must get up at 6 am every day. If you like 8 hours of sleep, go to bed every night at 10pm. You just have to figure out how many hours of sleep your body needs to feel rested. The bed is only for sleeping.

Get yourself the vitamin "melatonin." That'll help knock you out. I want to wish you the very best of luck, and I hope you can understand how this has to work, and does for millions of people.

Btw, you can make any schedule you want. You just have to stick to it. I read your question again, and I'm a bit confused what time you have to get to school. If you don't go to school till noon, you can adjust your schedule to, for example, getting up EVERY day at 10am and going to sleep at 2am. You just have to let your brain get used to a schedule. If you have any questions, E-mail me. Good luck again. :)

You are obviously younger than about 20.

I hate to just give you a link but the information on this site is very good , but too much for here.

You will feel way more normal when you read it.

Best wishes.

lavendar and chamomile flowers sewn into a pillow then sleep with it

My friend, i have HAD the exact same problem..

Like I said in a previous post, marijuana helps bring you to a calmer and more relaxed state. All natural and no sid-effects.. well, who isnt up for a late night snack? lol
And Onions. Inhaling a fresh, chopped up onion before bed will bring you to sleep in 15 mins. or so..

Try melatonin. Start out with a small mg. 3mg's will knock my mom out. I give my son a half of the 3mg tablet. He's autistic and likes to stay up at night sometimes.
