Best home remedies for yeast infections?!

Question: You need to change your diet and avoid stuff like beer, wine and wine coolers, mushrooms, sugar, yeast products, cheese while you have a yeast infection.

What really, truly works, but its a bit painful is alcohol. Rubbing alcohol. I used to get yeast infections, with a standing Diflucan prescription at the pharmacy. Diflucan didn't work for me. A friend told me her doctor actually gave her the alcohol treatment, painful, but she was over it by the time she got dressed. Wipe the outside of your thighs, upper legs, labia with alcohol-soaked cotton. Then use cotton swabs for internally. Be very quick. You only need to do this one time to find out how effective it is. And no, this isn't a joke, either!

maybe this will help you

You could try to drink more cranberry juice....supposedly that helps with removing bacteria from the urinary tract, it might help with yeast infections also. I really don't know if it will work for sure though--but at least it won't hurt you!

Hope you feel better soon!

Some people use a douche of garlic infused water. I'd recommend starting with a light infusion, as you don't want to irritate the vaginal lining.

acidopholous yoghurt and no you dont eat it

Here are some sites with things you can try

I hate sharing this with everyone in yahoo land but if I can help someone then it was worth the embarrassment of self. This is a problem I dealt with regularly before I had a series of colonics and if you want more information about yeast and colonics you can email me. Now on to the home remedy: I have tried all the holistic ways to get rid of a yeast infection and I have found that the simple garlic clove does wonders for the overgrowth of Candida Albicans. Simply insert garlic directly into the vag. You will find all kinds of ways to do this on the internet (threading a string to make it easier to pull out, wrapping garlic in a piece of gauze, etc.) but I have found, for me, the quickest and easy way is to peel the garlic, puncture a few tiny wholes in the garlic to excrete the healing oils and place it finger's length depth into the vag. You can leave it in for 48 hours but I recommend leaving it in for 24 hours or less then replace the garlic clove with a fresh one. Yes, I do find it somewhat difficult to remove but less tedious than all the prep with the tread, etc. Do whatever insertion technique works for you. Continue for 5 -7 days. Other home treatments: douching with Betadine (povidone-iodine) and filtered water solution; Tea tree Oil and water solutions; apple cider vinegar and water solution; plain yogurt/kefir or probiotic powder inserted with a vag syringe; and finally any probiotic capsule inserted into the vag. Be forewarned that the yogurt/probiotic insertion doesn't really kill much of the yeast. If you just STARTED to feel that familiar twinge then probiotic insertion might help to kill the infection but if you have a full grown overgrowth then use the garlic, tea tree, or Betadine treatment for about a week. When you have killed off the overgrowth then I suggest taking Jarrow Formulas Fem Dophilus capsules one every night for 30 days. A cheap place to get it is here: http://www.vitacost.com/Jarrow-Formulas-...

I called and spoke to the developer of Fem Dophilus who said it works really well as a vag suppository but they were not allowed to put that on the label. Lastly, you can get tested from a naturopathic physician for an overgrowth of yeast in your body. If you have an overgrowth, you can not completely get rid of your vag yeast infection until you address the real issue of yeast in your gut. If you are one of the lucky ones who only gets Candida Albicans occasionally then the above treatments should work to keep you clear of yeast infections. Also, do not consume any form of sugar during your treatment. Good Luck!

Grapefruit seed extract - liquid - diluted about 10 drops to 6 oz. You can use as a wipe or douche. Very effective against yeast. Also, take some biotin, another effective against yeast. Probiotics added to your diet should keep your bacterias balanced and keep yeast from flaring.

Probiotics - in heavy amounts. I use Gi-Pro from www.mannapages.com/choosehealth - and I take 3 per day, plus open a capsule and dust it on if it is vaginal. Everyone assumed this, but you didn't mention it so I am not sure. I have had yeast manifest itself in other ways.
All that said, once I got on Ambrotose and stayed on it, I haven't had any other flare ups, where I used to have them all the time. It is the manose in Cranberry that helps. If you use Cranberry, get it in capsule form. The added sugar in the juice defeats the purpose. Ambrotose has manose, and works much better (and does so much else for your health!)
The garlic remedy is interesting, as are all the other things mentioned. I am not sure that I could go that route though. :) I prefer less invasive remedies. LOL

Probiotics - go to any health store and ask for them. It won't cure but will help to prevent if you take as recommended and consistently.

i recommend you try this cure for yeast infections
