Depressants- what do they do to you?!

Question: Being that this question is posted in Alternative Meds, I will mention that there are other ways deal with depression and anxiety than drugs.
I suggested some supplements for a friend of mine and she was able to get off of Paxil. Another friend threw away her Zoloft prescription. Our bodies need phytosterols, and they are very deficient in our diets. Our bodies are NOT drug deficient.
Doctors are quick to prescribe these drugs for long term use, yet no long term use studies have been done. They are drugs though, and drugs by nature are lethal at some dose. Properly prescribed drugs were the #4 killer in America in 2004. That is NOT a typo! Drugs taken at the prescribed dosage were listed as the 4th leading cause of death. And that is based on reported numbers. Those kinds of deaths are grossly under reported. The first test a drug must pass to get FDA approval is the LD ratings. LD50 is the dose that kills 50% of the rats, and LD100 is the dose that kills the entire test population. That must be established before they look at therapudic dosing. If the drug being tested doesn't cause death, it can't go further in testing. It is labeled a food.

No one considers why we have so many people who need anti-depressants today whereas 50 years ago everybody was fine. It is because our diets have changed. Replace what is missing, and you can manage stress again! I know I wouldn't be without my supplements. If we ever run out for just a few days, I can feel the stress start to build up!

I have been on anti depressants about 5 yrs now and at first they just made me very tired all the time. Once that they are in your system the side affects usually go away.

They just make you feel normal and not tired anymore. I have been on Paxil for years and wouldn't have it any other way.

Not good.

I mean. What happens when you stop taking it? You withdraw. ITs a man-made thing. -Look at all the anti-depressants they pull off the shelf s all the time. Its insane.

Natural remedies is what its all about. Ive been on like.. 2 depressants and it sucked.

its not worth it.
