What natural supplements is good for RA?!

Question: I already take omega 3 fish oils, evening oil of primrose, glucosamine and a multivitimin... any thing else?

My hands are mostly affected and are more stiff vs painful. I already have some minor signs of active disease.. or disfigurement.

Drinking enough water daily is very important, so I hope this is a part of your day. Cats claw and Devils claw, Celery seed (herbs) all help with inflammation -as do organic apple cider vinegar and raw honey taken daily. Cutting way back on meat and dairy can help immensely as can increasing healthy fruits and vegetables.

I make up an ointment for pain and increasing mobility...helps with repair of damage. Some of the ingredients I use are Wintergreen essential oil, Arnica, Ginger, Cayenne...and more. Feel free to look for something similar in your area or can contact me.

Why are you taking evening oil of primrose, because it says on the back that it is good for you? No scientific studies have proven this so don't waste your money. Evening Primrose oil has shown dual results even in studies of relieving hot flashes due to menopause. The link I have included has a website that you can search any drug before you take, to view any studies on it. I recommend you do this in the future so that your health and your wallet both benefit. I was only able to find one study that may potentially support the claim that primrose is good for arthritis. Here it is:

Some other oils of marine origin (e.g. from the green-lipped mussel) and a range of vegetable oils (e.g. olive oil and evening primrose oil) have indirect anti-inflammatory actions, probably mediated via prostaglandin E1.

As you can see, we still do not know the mechanism by which the effect takes place. As you can also see the author states that olive oil is as beneficail so I would not spend another penny on primrose for two reasons.
1) The evidence that supports its use is limited. The oil may have been given with another supplement and not alone so the other supplement might have the beneficial effect.
2) Even if primrose was beneficial by itself you can take less expensive oils which you can easily incorporate into your daily diet.

All the Best!
Remember to post on yahoo or search the linked website yourself if you are trying to find potential studies.

RA is an auto-immune disease, where the body attacks itself for some unknown reason. However, it is usually due to extremely high stress levels over an extremely long period of time. Typically, people with RA will also have other AI disorders. Take the steps necessary to reduce your stress and to deal with your own internal messages. Some tips might be finding a Reiki Healer, Massage Therapist, study up on what happens to the body after being exposed to high levels of adrenal hormones over an extended period of time. This is why exercise, very aerobic exercise, is good for you - it deals with the excess hormones that have been excreted BEFORE it can damage the body's internal organs.

For my own hands, when they became achy, stiff, puffy, and red at the joints, painful to light touch, I took Black Cherry Juice Concentrate, one ounce daily, mixed with other juices or water, until the whole bottle was gone. It helped stop RA in my hands. When it started to affect my feet, I did the same for my feet, and now I'm better. I also followed the advice I gave you, too!

Also, keep taking the supplements that you currently take.

Vitamin D regulates the auto-immune system, reducing the severity of RA. Be sure to take vitamin D3, the most bio-available version. It would help to get a blood test to avoid overdosing but in most cases if you take 2000 International Units daily you are probably on solid ground.
