Have you ever had colonic irrigation?!

Question: If so - how was the experience? Did you feel better afterwards and would you recommend it? Also - how much did it cost, thanks.

I've never had one but I would never recommend anyone to have one.

Colonic irrigation is supposed to flush out and cleanse your system but think about this...

1. In your gut (colon), many "good" micro-organisms called commensals live here. They are beneficial to your body because they assist in many things like production of vitamins. They also take up space where otherwhise "bad" bacteria could live. If they are disturbed, your gut could recolonize with bad bacteria, and potentially leave you feeling quite ill. This is sometimes what happens when you take antibiotics - they kill off the good bacteria, bad bacteria recolonize, and you feel ill/have diahorrea.

2. Colonic irrigation is a waste of money because even if your gut is flushed out, it will become recolonized with bacteria extremely quickly i.e. in a matter of hours.

It's not natural - don't do it. If you want to feel healthier, do some exercise, eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water. That's my advice for what it's worth!

Uh, no...its unnecessary

no

Yes I did as a matter of fact about a week ago.
colonics are a personal choice.....
I suffer from IBS and the only option my doctor gave me was pills and/or steroids which are two options I didn't want to take, SO I decided to try colon hydrotherapy and for my own personal case, it helped quite a lot!
It was nothing like I expected AT ALL, I felt better instantly, but again, I had a situation that was ailing me for a few months.
I think cost depends on where you go.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK CREDENTIALS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING! THEY SHOULD HAVE A LICENCE!!!!!!
I would not reccommend doing it in a spa, go to a colon therapist.

By the way, as far as the intestinal flora is concerned, if you are taking a high quality pro-biotic on a regular basis, you won't have to worry about bad bacteria. Again, colonics are personal choices. Research and do it for the right reasons.

I have. Here in Baton Rouge, La Dr. Ford charges $60 (imagine that $60 to crap in someone's machine), even though, each time has been a different experience. From feeling "fresh" to nauseated, to can't wait the next time.

I would recommend it. Usually now that I know how it works I usually do a little home stuff before I go. Drink fruit/vegetable juices, a home enema, stuff like that.
