Melatonin good or bad?!


Question: I am about to take my first melatonin pill 3 mg. I should be asleep at around 10:00 pm and I will take a pill every night at 9:30.

Who thinks this is a bad idea?

Not me. My husband and I each take a melatonin every night before bed and have done so for several years now. You'll be fine!

melatonin is naturally made by the body if you are having troubles sleeping it wont hurt you to take a supplement

Melatonin is naturally produced by the body, so I don't think it is bad to supplement with melatonin pills.

I would recommend half a pill to start to see how it effects you. I tried 3mg of melatonin and it gave me intense dreams and made me groggy in the morning. See what is best for you.

Not such a good idea, especially if you are on any psychotropic drugs. Also, taking it messes with your natural production over time.
