Omega 3 vs. Omega 3-6-9 (fish oil)?!
Question: What does 3-6-9 do that 3 doesn't?
If you are about 50, would you take two 1000 mg a day for the 3-6-9 also (I do for the 3)......what is the difference AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.......is it available at Sam's, Wal Mart, etc. -- least expensive please?? Thank you!!!

An omega 9 is not an essential oil, or bodies make it with no problem. An omega 6 is an essential oil, but we get about 25 times more 6 then omega 3. Omega 3 is the one to concentrate on. The form EPA/DHA is the most potent form found in fish oil. Yes Sams club has very fine fish oil and a very good place to purchase it.
All three are needed for optimum health.
The cheapest way I have found to get the 3-6-9 Omega oils, is by grinding in the blender or coffee grinder, with your favorite juice, smoothie, or add to your cereal; Flax seeds, Sunflower seeds and Sesame seeds (all raw).
The amount needed varies and it is best to let your body tell you. I would start with a Tablespoon (2 of sunflower seeds) of each a day, then try more after a week or two and see if it makes a difference.
The ground seeds help with digestion (flax seeds will pass through if not ground), nutrition (essential fatty acids and many other nutrients, also feeds the mucus membranes in the body - like colon), and elimination (laxative effect).
You may need to go to the health food store to find the raw seeds and/or flax seeds.
