Coughing! Do you know of any natural remedies?!
Question: My son who is 3 has a bad little cough from a cold and I would like to know if you know of anything natural that will give him relief.
He has been to the doctor and it is just a bad cold.

A spoonful of honey will stop the cough. It's natural and works because it coats the throat .
As odd as this sounds, it worked for my 3 year old Grandson. Someone sent it to my daughter in a n email. Rub Vicks Vaporub on the bottom of the feet and put on socks at bed time. My Grandson coughed all day and it stopped after using the Vicks......Don't know why - but it sure worked.
Sweeten tea with lemon and honey
Coats the throat
Use humidifier or tea kettle to get moisture into air
Encourage fluid intake
Honey, if he'll take it....maybe a teaspoon....
Vicks on his chest at night will help loosen up any phlegm that he has...but be sure to wash it off in the a.m....don't take him out with it still on his chest..
Okay, he has a cough...why didn't the doc prescribe a cough syrup for him? You could probably get a childrens cough syrup at your local drugstore...vicks is a good product...

I agree that a little honey will coat the throat and help relieve his throat. However, he may balk at swallowing something so thick. It that's the case, mix it with a few ounces of room temperature or slightly warm water and have him sip it slowly.
You may also substitute a half cup of weak, warm, DE-CAF tea with a spoon of honey and a couple of drops of lemon or orange juice.
