Headaches laying down? not sure?!

Question: I have been recovering from a trauma injury and I am now off the narcotics - but since I went off the narcotics I have these terrible headaches at night that wake me up - and I'm not sure what to do. I'm trying to eventually get off every medicine and I'm working hard to get myself back in shape and eat better and everything. But for the past 4 years I haven't been able to bend and all that - I've been in the gym nearly every day trying to get stronger mostly working out in the pool. I'm not sure what the problem might be. I am to the point of going to the doctor but I reallly don't want to go to doctors and take meds and all that. But I'm planning on doing something today .. I'll call either a doctor or a naturopath doctor today. I just don't know what to do.

My first contact in such a case would be a good chiropractor. It could be from neck or spinal injury. Some naturopaths are actually both, if you can find one of those, that would be great. If you can find a way in your area to get recommendations for either or both it would be a good way to find out who to go to without having to just pick and hope.

The exercising is a good thing too, but a chiro should be able to help you with specifics to focus on the problem.

I went through the same thing. Land up I was having muscles spasms at night that went through my back , to the shoulder and then my neck and then gave me a headache. I just take flexerill (muscle relaxers)at night and they seem to help. I would call your doctor anyway just to have it checked.
I dont have them very often now.
Mine felt like a screw was put into the back of my head at the base and through my eye. It felt like a migraine.

Also teaching me exercises to strengthen my neck helped through physical therapy.
