Has anyone ever used Melatonin as a sleep aid and if so how well did it work?!

Question: Melatonin helps to support Serotonin, which affects your sleeping and waking cycles. We literally have thousands of customers that get a lot of benefits from Melatonin... but it's very important not to take too much or treat it like a sleeping pill.
Melatonin isn't a product that will knock you out quickly, it's a product to help balance your Serotonin levels over time so you don't NEED to take anything to help you sleep. There are some fast-acting Melatonin products on the market that are treated more like sleeping pills... but that's really minimizing the overall effect.

Another important thing to mention is that you should not take more than you need because it will actually have the opposite effect... too much Serotonin will make a person wake up. I would recommend sticking with what the bottle recommends (usually 3 mg before bed).

If you don't get the desired effect from Melatonin, you could also try a few other supplements that help people to sleep. There's Valerian, Chamomile, Hops, L-Tryptophan, L-Theanine, Passionflower, and Scullcap (an herb).
Good luck!

ive taken it and it doesnt really do much but give you cotton mouth. Nyquill is much better

I recently purchased vitamin supplements and purchased this as an antioxidant. I took the supplements with my evening meal and by 8:30 I couldn't keep my eyes open. I must also add though that I am highly sensitive to medications on a whole. So in my opinion it works.

5htp is much better.

Yes, it's o. k. you have to take at least 3. Valarian also works. But not drinking anything with caffiene after 6 pm is also a good idea.

I ahve a friend that used it and it always helped. It took around l hour to go to sleep.
