Yes. Its a brilliant way to detoxify. You can start with a week if you havnt done one before and then increase the time next time you do one. Hipprocates( Queensland ), the raw food retreat puts people on three week programmes that includes a three day organic juice and wheatgrass fast also. The health benefits are way too long to even mention here, but lets just say miracles happen. Make sure you are prepared before you start. Buy a weeks worth of organic fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds. Theres some creative recipes on line for you to look at before you start. make sure you buy a huge range of delights and include lots of greens. The green pigment in vegetables contains the chlorophyll and that is very cleansing. Lots of bitters greens are good also like rocket as they stimulate the liver. Sprouts are good also, they contain high levels of oxygen and are a powerhouse of nutrients. If done correctly there is not one single nutrient you are missing out on, you will probably be flooding the body with more vitamins than ever. You can also make youre own sprouts, brown lentles and brown rice sprout really well. Dont over do it on the fruit, just stick to 2 or 3 pieces a day. you want to try and flush out excess sugars. avacados are good also, you need oils to detoxify efficiently. Include fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, peppers etc. I make a wicked guacamole with heaps of different grated vegies with the avacado, basil, lemon, garlic, chilli, sunflower seeds, tomato etc and put it inside lettuce leaves and roll them up. So yummy I could live off them.
If after a week you feel up to it you could try a one day fast, just to finish off. I usually do my fast for 3 days, but if you've never done one before 1 might be a good start.
I did the raw diet for 6 weeks once. It was amazing, my hair and nails grew quicker, my cellulite dissapeared, everything was turning younger. I knew a guy that was a raw foodist for 30 years. he was 51 and looked 30. No wrinkles, no grey hair!
Its truly the best detox you can do. I run a health food shop here in Australia and no detox kit I've ever sold even comes close to the raw food and juice detox.

Just one more thing; theres always a chance you have detox symptoms, headaches, irritable, breakouts etc. Its simply the toxins coming out. I usually start when I have a few days off work. usually by day 3 I have so much energy, am thinking clearer and sleeping better.

yes, but it should follow these general guidelines.
1. three days water fast (this is to cleanse the system)
2. seven days of raw vegetables-varied
3. two to three days of soup-vegetable
4 back to normal (hopefully good) diet

be careful. i would try 3-4 days, not a week. if you go to a facility where they do this, then week or more is okay. but, if you are home unsupervised and doing your daily activities, don't over do it. juicing is also a good way to go raw.
