My sister would dilute hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle of water, and spray her daughter's hair when she combed it out after shampooing. Worked. If you are going to do it, hp is much safer than chlorine bleach. Chlorine bleach is a noxious chemical that should be avoided even in the laundry.

Bleach is toxic. Anything that's going to remove the color from your hair is going to damage it. It sucks, but it's true.

Unfortunately, anything that's harsh enough to affect the color in your hair (especially lightening it) will have to be very toxic and irritating (especially pure bleach)... after all, it's irritating your hair to the point that it's removing the color from it.

I've looked in health food stores and at natural products, but I have never seen a natural bleaching product that wasn't harmful. I've also looked specifically for someone who has very sensitive skin and couldn't use regular hair dye (of any sort), but there are no non-irritating hair colors, hair lighteners, or hair bleaches on the market. Sorry!

I have not try this but if I wanted to lighten my hair i would try lemon juice, nothing is more natural than that.

Not truely "bleach" but rinsing your hair in either diluted lemon juice or strong chamomile tea will lighten it a little. If you are trying to cover gray, sage tea rinse will help.

if you want them to look lighter Hydrogen per oxide is a simple way. the longer you apply it the lighter color your hair are.
if you want a burgundy tinge you may use henna a.k.a. mehndi (technically it's the paste of ground leaves of lawsonia plant) it is used abundantly in arabian countries and india to colour hair and does'nt damage hair. it's actually a hair conditioner.
