How long does xanax stay in your system?!

Question: 3-5 days, true story, I take it regularly I have a script for it and when I go to get drug tested for agency jobs they always ask: have you taken a xanax in the last 5 days, I asked them why in the last 5 days and the nurse said it shouldn't show up if I hadn't taken it in the last 5 days.

Xanax is a drug in a class called benzodiazipines along with others like Valium, Ativan and klonipin. Generally these drugs can be detected in urine up to three days. However, after prolonged heavy use I have seen clients test positive for up to thirty days.
