usually 6/8 weeks before you feel the benefits.

Try 5 HTP and some omega 3 fatty acids. They really work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust me.

If you've been on them for more than 8 weeks then I think it's time to go back in, maybe get a higher dose or find something that will work for you. So the answer is probably no, you should notice a bit of a difference by week 4 -- by 6 it gets better and by 8, you should definitely notice a difference. I do agree with the other answerers. 5 HTP does work and it's natural. Another thing that works extremely well is L-Glutamine which makes GABA.

Why? See, http://www.breggin.com
and you can request a pdf file (small book) from me through my e mail that reveals a natural way to get your body back on track with depression.

Here's a news flash, men and women have hormones and its a hormonal imbalance, not a chemical imbalance. Commercials say a chemical imbalance "may" be to blame because there is no scientific studies proving that depression is a chemical imbalance, so they get away with technically saying "may" be to blame.

Once those SSRI (anti depressants) get their meet hooks in your neuro receptors, then you become dependant on them, and then your in a down hill spiral for the rest of your life if you fall for this method.

The side affects are heart palpitations, anxiety attacks, sexual dysfunction, more depression than when you started out with, loss of focus or concentration, loss of comprehension or retaining information, vertigo, mania etc.

Don't take them!
