Prescription combination safe?!

Question: I know I should talk to my doctor about this but of course his office is closed as it is midnight here. My question is..I am taking wellbutin (antidepressant), chantix (smoking cessetation) and darvocet. Tonight I am having alot of trouble sleeping & remembered I still have some cough syrup that was prescribed to me a little over a year ago. Most prescriptions have an experation date on the bottle but this one doesnt. Do you think its too old to take? I believe it also has hydrocodone in it so will that be a bad interaction with my other prescriptions? The title on the bottle says..CYTUSS HC SYP CYPRESS so I really dont know what that means. One more thing, if I remember right hydrocodone makes you sleepy right? Its the same thing thats in lortabs? Because lortabs always made me kinda hyper and thats the LAST thing I need right now!! Anyway, I really appreciate any advice or opinions on this.

If you will not call your doctor's service and ask the on-call physician - then call the pharmacist you normally get your meds thru...or one that is open at any hour.

Give the pharmacist the list of drugs you are taking & their dosage and the condition they are treating....and ask if there is a recommendation for something to help you sleep -

If you are not careful you could end up dead or on a psych hold somewhere because they think you were attempting suicide.

Or you could end up on a transplant list if you take a combo that is toxic to a critical organ like heart, liver or kidney.

Prescription medications are strong enough on their own, but the wrong mix with or Prescriptions, over-the-counter meds and/or herbal supplements can be deadly

Toooooooo many drugs and combinations......no...

Jesus! No you can't mix all of that. Call your doctor anyways. They get paid booku bucks and they have to take "on call" rotations as part of their jobs. Ask the doctor - they will tell you the same thing. Is your name Anna Nicole?

If you really don't want to call your doctor then call the all night pharmacy... the pharmacist will tell you.

With that many mediations, I'm not sure that asking this question on Yahoo Answers is really the best, or safest, idea! I'm sorry you are having trouble sleeping (believe me I understand how frustrating it is, I am a chronic insomniac), but maybe the best thing to do is to just try to rest tonight, and then make a call to a medical professional tomorrow, or at least try to consult a drug interaction guide. Good luck, and please don't risk putting yourself in danger by taking medication advice from strangers on the internet!

I know this isn't the answer you want, but I would call your doctor or Ask-A-Nurse!

Just call a 24-hour pharmacy. I work at one and we get many calls late at night with similar questions. The cough syrup has codeine not hydrocodone , which will make you sleepy. I don't know about the interactions because I am only a tech!

do not put anything else into your body. right now you have too much in your body to allow your body to relax properly. the hydrocodone is a pain killer just like darvocet. you have no reason to stack pain killers. just wait it out.
