Try meditation. I know it sounds hard, but the best way to combat depression and anxiety is to MAKE yourself feel happy and to meet whatever makes you feel anxious head on.

For everything that you can do like certain foods, supplements and other lifestyle changes like cutting out certain things like alcohol see site below, with examples of people worse than you.

Turn on the lights,sounds simple,but I live in a cloudy area,and even in the daytime,it seems a bit dreary.
Also,take good care of your enviroment,clean your house,apt. and orginize.
You don't have to spend a lot of money,just go and window shop,buy a small coffee or what you like and cruise the mall,or what I like,go to the thrift store.
I don't take vitamins so I can't help you there,but I do make sure to eat the foods that give me a proper balence,sometimes you have to force yourself.

Other than that, do a whole lot of reading on the subjects, during which you will find what works for you.

Getting sunshine is a HUGE help. Even just 15 minutes per day with just your face and hands exposed can make a tremendous difference to overcome depression.

overdose on fresh air take up walking, meet new people join a meditation or yoga group, only you know why your anxious and depressed think about your life and what you want from it and lastly no more negative thinking it only takes you down, postive is the only way to go, beleive me i know.

Drug therapy can help some people, but on its own isn't as powerful. As with any other health problem (cholesterol, blood pressure, obesity), you have to do your homework.
