Is there an alternative to Monistat One that is still over the counter?!

Question: I hate that stuff. Is there anything else over the counter (preferably something taken orally) out there?

There's nothing that's as powerful as Monistat that is oral. However, you can get Diflucan (an oral cure) prescribed pretty easily if you have a yeast infection. Also, you can use probiotic pills (try Jarro-Dophilus) and that can help to reduce the symptoms.

Yeast infection I presume. Natural and safe remedies for yeast infection include adding biotin to your day. Take it 2 x a day at 5mg. Take biotin with magnesium for absorption. Also, use Grapefruit Seed Extract. Both are used to naturally manage yeast outbursts. You can take the GSE in pill form. Also, you can use the liquid form - 1 drop = 10mg - and dilute to make a douche. We dilute GSE 10 drops to 6 oz of water, but for douche, you can make it 30 drops. It is very effective, and combined with the biotin should take care of it.

If the combination of these two doesn't knock the yeast out, add diflucan.

You should already be adding probiotics, yogurt is a weak form of probiotics. For full blown yeast infection, get a pill or try kefir. Probiotics should be taken 2 hours away from any yeast intervention, as those - even the GSE - will kill good bacteria also. The probiotics will help balance your system and get the yeast under control.

REMEMBER: with yeast, NO sugars as that is what yeast feeds on. Also, cut back on carbs as they translate to sugar. Make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water - 98 oz a day is a good benchmark.
