I've tried it and I plan on never doing it again. It's the stongest known HALLUCINOGEN in the world and not that many people know about it.
I live in Illinois and on January 1st, 2008, the state passes a law against possession of Salvia. I can't remember what the class is, but it's in the same class as heroin, in terms of illegality, I think.
Other states have already banned its use and other states are about to ban it indefinitely.
To answer your question, it is inexpensive in some places and expensive in others. It all depends on where you get it.
Nooo, it is nothing like weed. You don't hallucinate when you smoke even dank weed. I used to do shrooms and LSD and I once bought weed laced with PCP and I didn't know it until after I smoked it and got pissed at the person who sold me it (that's when they told me). Salvia is stronger than all three of these.
You can seriously screw up your brain if you do Salvia and you're not prepared or your mind isn't in the right setting.
I heard its more like a intense but quick LSD buzz and deadlier than LSD

OMG, reading all those uneducated replies makes me sick. Deadly?? Salvia is as safe as pure water. There is no scientific evidence that consuming Salvia has ANY negative side effects. I think everyone should try Salvia at least once in their life. It's the most amazing adventure you can imagine. The experience is ABSOLUTELY REAL. Everything that you see you become convinced that it's really happening. You are transported into another VERY ELABORATE world. It's not just some funky colors or distorted images. I just simply can't describe it, no one can. But if you go to the official salvia site: http://www.Salvia.md you can read many accounts of actual experiences. They also have a forum there you can ask other users specific questions. Last time I did it, I completely lost my body - I was only a thought and I was freely hovering over the void of the universe. It was so beautiful. Previous times, I've become a giant cup in an amusement park in what seemed like Alice in Wonderland setting.
To answer your other question, good salvia is expensive, bad salvia is cheap. Cheap salvia is dirty and not only unhealthy, but also won't give you a trip, maybe it'll make you laugh for a couple of seconds or something like that, but to experience a full blown trip you need a shamanic extract. At the end the shamanic extract, though more expensive actually is cheaper than the cheap sh*t because it can last forever! You only need a TINY PINCH of shamanic extract t get full blown effects. So you can pay $5 for salvia which won't last even for one trip, or you can pay $30 or so for shamanic and it'll last you for 30 times.

As with anything human...there are those with brains & those with brains that use them.
Salvia, just like cannibis, has many varieties within...and all are useful for what they were intended. Some varieties should only be used by the knowing & skilled of the herbal arts, just like you would not give a new smoker chronic. The sages come in types that you season your stuffing with on Thanksgiving, to ones that easily clean out clogged blood streams, to those that can induce abortion...a rare few were experimented with for entertainment & found more appealling if mixed as a part of a smokable blend than alone...it simply is not it's purpose. Mother Nature's pantry supplies much finer forms of organics for entertaining the body & the mind--for those that respect Her enough to acquire the dos & don'ts of such...She does have her dark sides, as you can see here.
And there are things growing in your backyards, along those pretty country roads, and along those woodsy skinny-dipping ponds that could provide the most excellent high...or kill you... if you don't know the waz up with Nature.

its not really like weed at all its more like an acid trip but it doesnt last long ive smoked salvia a bunch of times and ive had the trip last anywere from 5 minutes to an hour its pretty damn crazy and it can be expensive depending on how potent it is.
