Don't let the other answers freak you out. I've taken unisom and alcohol, or tylanol pm and alcohol plenty of times and I'm not dead. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!! The best think for a hangover is drink lots and lots and lots and lots of water. A hangover is your body's way of saying: "i'm dehydrated, this suuuuuckkkkkssss!" Your mouth gets dry because your body sucks the moisture from your oral oraface, your joints hurt because your body takes the water from them to replace all of the water you peed out last night. Your head hurts because your brain is 98% water and your body need that water! So drink drink drink (water) and re hydrate yourself. A good rule of thumb when drinking alcohol is to match every alcoholic beverage with a glass of water.

This can be a deadly combination.
Unisom is a depressant, alcohol is a depressant. It's a recipe for disaster, serious illness, and potentially death. DO NOT MIX ALCOHOL AND SLEEP MEDICATIONS.
You will not recover from a hangover.
Best case scenario: you will feel like crap... really tired and unable to think straight... dizzy...and fall asleep.
Worst: you'll pass out... stop breathing... and possibly die.

Never, ever mix sleeping pills with booze. It can kill you or leave you in a vegetative state, or a coma. I think that counts as a side effect, and not a good one! If you already took some Unisom and Vodka call for help NOW!!

yes - very bad. could permanently cure that hangover. . . if you know what i mean. don't, we don't want to read your obit

yes

VERY bad combination. It's a recipe for disaster.

yes

vodka is bad in general

Now I've heard it all. Why would you do that? If you can't stop drinking before you've had enough to cause a hangover, at least please don't try to find an "out" by using any ridiculous pseudo-cure that comes down the pike. Like most of them, this can be deadly. Instead, try ordering your drinks with 2 full glasses of water per drink. First, drink the water,( at the same rate you drink alcohol - don't chug it,) until there's enough room in both glasses to top them off with the alcohol evenly , filling both glasses. If you're just trying to get drunk, you probably won't like this idea, but if you tend to drink a lot because alcohol makes you thirsty, it will help. You'll still feel relaxed and can have fun, without getting plowed. If the bar kicks about the water, find another place to drink. Best of Luck!
