Just want everybody's thoughts and opinions.

Actually is already happening in real life by the way. Its through our water system.

I think you'll going to love this link Minx:

yes

No. The medicines would mix together and the side effects of all those different things could be bad.

Oh, I'm afraid it would be good for neither! Better to put it in toxic waste barrels before dumping it in the ocean.

I really wish this statement could come true but alas it is
not possible. The next best we could do is to patronise
alternative theraphy and shun this poisonous toxic medicine.
Cheers! :o)

Not all (since some medications are good, and if we had absolutely nothing a lot of people would die quickly), but I guess the over all result of chucking most (but not all) of them would be positive.
Although I had to think about it for a while before saying that.

This should be the question of the day Minx ! :o)
No I totally don't agree about throwing it in the sea, though I do agree that all "MEDICINE" invented by us Human beings should be abolished we have nothing to gain by destroying our natural immune system by taking those drastic chemicals which kill almost the same amount of people everyday as disease itself does. We should take the things which complement our natural immune system and by strengthening it we should make it better not worse as the Pharmaceutical industry does with the drastic chemicals they peddle in the name of "MEDICINE" which can make us sicker then we were before we took those godforsaken potions more like some evil witches brew. Sickness and disease only attack our organism when its weakened by the impurities we put in, additives, preservatives unnatural ingredients man made stuff and massive doses of chemicals in the name of "MEDICINE". You can well imagine what a tablet of Aspirin can do to an Angel Fish's stomach if Aspirin alone can give us humans stomach ulcers. Interesting. I think the best solution should be that those medicine should be fed to the ones who created the horrible stuff. Lets see "How they like the taste of their own medicines". :o) Would love to do that. You game for it mate ? Lets go feed em the stuff, lots better then being cruel to those cute little fishy. lol Lets go shove it down their throats. :o)

Have a great day Minx, this is by far the best question I have answered today. Thank you mate.

Well, Minx, I am a huge believer in alternative medicine and herbs, but some medicines are necessary.

For instance, my mother just after World War 11 in Italy, went to celebrate the end of the war at a girlfriend's country home..she was 14 or 15 years old. She met a sailor at the beach and he and she were walking through a wooded area in the front and her girlfriend and her mother walking further behind happily looking around as her mother had asked her to see if any houses were for sale in the area,

My mother and this unknown American sailor stepped on a landmine. It threw them higher than the trees and when she landed (she never found out what happened to him), her legs both hung by threads of skin..the bones all crushed, huge pieces of shrapnel had made their way through her face and arm and she was covered in blood..eventually she got into an American hospital as the Italian hospitals did not know what to do to help her.

She was told both her legs would be amputated. But then they gave her penicillin which had just come out for use in the war. Eventually, they were able to save her legs..they told her she would never walk again and she spent many lonely nights in the hospital in a body cast for 18 months..then she walked down the hall to the applause of the doctors and nurses.

Modern medicine had saved her legs and likely her life as the Germans put chemicals in the landmines that caused infections. If not for modern medicine I and my brothers and sisters and all our kids would not be here. Now it is perhaps possible that herbs could have done the same thing but one cannot be certain.

I am sure that many people have been saved or helped by medicines but so many have also been harmed or killed. I think in Europe they have the best approach..using herbs about 80% of the time and saving the powerful pharmaceuticals as a last resort the other 20% of the time.

Also one does not need a prescription but are helped by the pharmacists and the herbs (and drugs) are paid for by the health care system. This would be of great use in our country so wrought with disease.

Though I love and practice alternative health and have for over 30 years, I do recognize that allopaths are sometimes necessary..I find them helpful in diagnosis (and then I treat it alternatively with herbs and such).

Also in things like car accidents..like when ones legs are crushed and broken, most people would want a doctor and not an herbalist.

Although I am possible going to get cancer from the huge amounts of radiation I received from many cat scans and xrays from my recent car accident..they were able to see if any bones were broken in order to fix them. access if my bleeding head had severe damage or not in order to perform emergency surgery if necesary and then when I went into shock 9 days later, had I not gotten to the hospital, I would have died.

It was there, through cat scans, they were able to diagnose spleen and liver lacerations and internal bleeding quickly and gave me things to help through the IV..although I was transported to a trauma hospital for removal of my injured spleen and part of injured liver, luckily, I stabilized and they let me keep these organs..I could have died..I learned that ten years ago, all lacerated spleens were removed but now through cat scans, they can decide which can be saved and which must be removed.

Though I do not think it is good to remove any organs, if it was a choice between that and death, I would chose removal. Modern medicine is good for trauma like car accidents.

Although things like gunshots, crushed bones, and near torn off kneecaps etc can be successfully treated by herbs and sometimes with far superior results, very few people know how to treat them and other serious traumas this way (Dr Richard Schulze and the late Dr John R Christopher being two notable exceptions who had great success with this.)

Since you are studying to be a naturopathic, by studying these men and watching their films, you will be able to take alternative health beyond what many naturopaths can. I urge you to became very familiar with their programs. You may someone's life someday. I was able through learning their ways to stop a painful heart attack in my mother twice using a few simple herbs. All present were amazed.

Most naturopath's do not know how to push the envelop to get the cures for incurable and deadly things..so allopaths are necessary. Until that day when natureopaths can successfully be equally as acceptable as medical doctors and be allowed to treat the incurable diseases and prove they can be superior to many treatments used by naturopaths, people will not know how incurable diseases can be cured..how many times herbs can and do work miracles. Even so, we still do need the high tech equipment, drugs, and skills of doctors and the established medical system at least some. Certainly, alternative health works better in many cases for diseases like diabetes, cancer, and other degenerative diseases than allopathic medicine,. We who are knowledgeable and have seen how wonderful alternative health works know this. Still many people do not realize this. It is our job to educate them.

Even though I recently reflected on the fact that doctors were very necessary after my wreck, still I use mostly diet and alternative health and herbs for most things and try to avoid all medicines whenever possible. Although in the hospital I was pumped with all kinds of IV drugs, when I got out I even quit the powerful pain pills they gave me and did not even take aspirins and just toughed it out for a few reasons.

I am getting better with chiropractic, herbs and time but in the acute crisis, I am grateful for the doctors and hospital. Being there recently and reflecting on it all gave me a new insight into the grudging fact that occasionally they are necessary, so I would not throw them, their modalities, and allopaths into the sea but drastically reduce their use by fighting to get alternative treatments more widely used and accepted and stopping the allopaths lock on health in this country.

It would be great if insurance covered things like naturopaths and maybe herbs but one must be careful they ever classify herbs and nutritional supplements as a drug as they will limit of free use of them. Already they are trying to do this as they are competing mightily with doctors and drug company profits.

Ideally having places like Dr Patch Adams envisions with all types of alternative and regular practitioners working side by side and doctors taught respect for herbs and alternative health along with their regular studies would be ideal.

I had so lucked out with the family doctor I had (that I just lost due to a change in HMO's) who was called online a "doctor of the future"..she shops at my health food store, sells and advocates for all kinds of nutritional and herbal products and suggestions, uses things like EFT and suggests all types of alternative health books saving the prescription drugs for a last resort..she has the medical expertise when necessary but generally takes an EXTREMELY alternative approach to medicine giving me the best of both worlds..if another doctor recommends a drug, she generally suggest some health food store product instead or a much smaller dose of the drug which is great. Doctors like this are almost impossible to find.

It is the profit motive which should be eliminated. In Ohio we are trying to get single payer on the ballot and it is going to include preventative and alternative medicine if it passes.

Here in the city I live in Ohio, we have a clinic that the doctor owns a health food store that is part of the complex and it hires all types of alternative practitioners in the maintaining and help of people's health..this is what we need more of.

I don't believe all medicine is bad. I do believe there are many pitfalls when it comes to selling medicine on the open market.
