Ever get really bad belly cramps?!

Question: ever get those bad (sorry for being gross) diarehea cramps like they take your breath away they are soooo painful and I take imodium and that helps but what do you do in the middle of it all like is there anyway other then using the bathroom to alleviate the pain, like does relaxing help, or any acupressure spots, anything, like what helps in the midst of it all before you get a chance to get a pill. Also is it just spasms in your colon is tht what the pain is from. It hurts sooo much and I have had a baby so I know pain.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Best thing that I've found is ice packs. I put them right on top of the most painful site. They not only relieve some of the pain, but also help with the nausea. I also feel very faint from vegal stimulation from the pain, and the ice helps keep my blood pressure from bottoming out. Ice packs and a cold tile bathroom floor can work miracles.

sorry, mine bad ones come from menstration.

You should make an appointment with a gastroenterologist. You may have IBS or Crohn's disease. There are treatments that will help. In the mean time, try some warm tea, it sometimes helps with the pain. GL

I used to have those when I had more anxiety (when I was 19/20 years old) and panic attacks. Here is what I found to help:

Mint tea
Chamomile tea
*Deep breathing exercises* - this one is great because you don't have to run out and get something. Just breathe really slowly into your lower abdomen.
Chocolate
Sugary food in general
Candied ginger
Ginger tea

Good luck!

Fennel Tea will help with this problem, but you really need to find the underlying cause of it - perhaps you suffer from IBS in which case Buscopan (hyoscine hydrobromide) will help - buy it from the chemists.

I used to before we changed our lifestyle and started using alternative medicine, organic foods and immune boosters.I would think I was going to pass out the pain was so bad. Much worse than any of my 4 child births.

You really need to address the root, Immodium isn't doing that, neither would doing anything during the pain.

Simple changes:
add a salad a day (simple salad, maybe romaine)
make sure you are getting at least 96 oz of water daily
add a probiotic (either in the form of kefir or a pill)
add a complete enzyme to each meal

More lifestyle changes: drop all processed foods and eat more organic and green -as close to the garden as possible. No artificial sweeteners, and avoid refined sugars. Stevia is a great sugar substitute. We even substitute with it in baking. It is a super sweet plant derivative that doesn't metabolize as sugar.

A couple of must reads:
90-Day Immune System Makeover - by Dr. Janet Maccaro
The Great Physician's Rx to Health and Wellness - by Jordan Rubin
Both cover a lot of healing ground, and a lot of immune system boosting. Jordan's book adds a great supplemental recipe section too.

Hope that gives you a good place to start.
Best health to you.
