Any remedies for a sore throat?!

Question: I've got tonsilitis for which the doctor has put me on anti-biotics, I'm also taking typical analgesic painkillers. But my throat is still sore and I have a tickly cough. Does anyone have any remedies?

Well you can try this recipe to sooth the pain

Boil the kettle and add 1 slice of lemon, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 1 teaspoon of honey

The honey and lemon will help clear up any infection

I personally like to drink green tea, as hot as I can stand it. It really numbs the pain for a while. I have also gargled salt water before, as it helps to kill the infection in the throat area. Again, I have also seen decent results from that.

Get a big d!ck and suck on it until it shoots HOT c*m down your throat, that should soothe the pain.

Slippery Elm bark will deaden the pain of swallowing and smooooth things out a bit. Health stores have it.

I've never tried it for a sore throat but arnica montana works really good for pain and might deaden things a bit in there. It's made by Boiron and is available at Natural Food stores. Blue tube 30x or green tube 200x is what you want. About $5-7 per tube.

BHI Labs ... now known as Heel has a remedy for MINOR sore throats that might help a bit too. It's called THROAT and it's NDC number is 50114-2258-2. Health stores again.

Any good nutritionist can give you more ideas too. Most LARGE health stores like Clark's or Whole Foods will have a nutritionist on staff. In a smaller store look for the oldest person there and ask.

There is also a spray that will deaden the pain. I think you can get that at Walgreen's, Long's, or Rite Aid. Just ask them for a sore throat spray.

When I had my tonsils yanked at 8 years old I ate tons of ice cream and that works awesome too. But is very temporary.

Blackberry brandy has always worked for me. Just sip it, it really soothes the throat better than lozenges or syrups. It does have an alcohol content, so it would not be appropriate for children or alcoholics.

Purple grape juice 100% juice not grape juice cocktail
coats the throat has vitamin C
just don't drink it right before you go to the doctor it will look like blood and freak them out.
also reccomended for kids who have had their tonsils out

There are many home remedies for sore throats. Tequila lime juice and honey is one. Gargling with salt water another. Gargling with grapefruit seed extract GSE is another. While also ingesting some. although this is verybitter it does kill backteria and some viruses.

Sore throats can be caused by bacteria or viruses. Most require no medical intervention, and will go away within 2 to 3 days. Here are a few tips to make a sore throat go away even quicker.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderate

Things You'll Need

* Toothpaste
* Acetaminophen
* Throat Lozenges
* Thermometers
* Salt
* Ibuprofen
* Chicken Broths
* Humidifiers
* Fruit Juices
* Aspirins
* Mouthwash
* Ice cream, sherbets and popsicles
* Throat Sprays
* Crushed Ice
* Toothbrushes
* Drinking Straws
* Aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen
* Lozenges
* Cough drops
* Mint mouthwash or salt water
* Toothbrush and paste

Steps
1. Step One
Consider the cause: a bug that's going around the office, enthusiastic cheering, or perhaps something more serious, such as strep throat. There are instant strep throat test strips that can tell you in less than 30 minutes if you have strep throat. Be aware, though, that these strips sometimes deliver false negatives.
2. Step Two
Take an analgesic to reduce inflammation; aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen for an adult, or acetaminophen or ibuprofen for children, as recommended by your doctor.
3. Step Three
Suck on throat lozenges if you are an adult, especially those containing menthol, benzocaine or phenol, which numb the throat. Zinc lozenges may also be helpful. Children should suck on cough drops or hard candy.
4. Step Four
Gargle with mint mouthwash or salt water.
5. Step Five
Spray a throat spray containing numbing agents into the back of your throat, if you're an adult.
6. Step Six
Brush your tongue. Sometimes, removing the buildup on your tongue can lessen the soreness in your throat.
7
Step Seven
Rinse your toothbrush in mouthwash between brushings to kill bacteria.
8
Step Eight
Drink ice-cold beverages. Try filling a glass half-full of crushed ice; then pour fruit juice over the ice. Let it sit for 10 minutes, insert a straw and suck slowly, letting the juice rest a minute on the back of your throat.
9
Step Nine
Add moisture to your environment with a humidifier or vaporizer, or sit in a steamy shower or bath.
10. Step Ten
Eat soft or liquid foods, especially sherbets and chicken broth.
11. Step Eleven
Avoid cigarette smoke and other airborne irritants.
Tips & Warnings

* Ask your pharmacist to recommend a good lozenge or throat spray.
* For a severe sore throat accompanied by fever, difficulty swallowing or breathing, a red rash or coughing up of brown sputum, see your doctor or go to the emergency room immediately.
* Contact a doctor if you have a sore throat that keeps you from being able to swallow.
* Check young children for drooling. Drooling indicates trouble swallowing, which can lead to difficulty in breathing and requires immediate medical attention.

All of these answer's (except for one) are really great remedies!! But, I have tried them all & there is still yet one more greater answer, & that is to buy, alcohol-free "GOLDENSEAL" in the liquid form!! I know of no other natural antibiotic available to the public that is this effective, & with really rapid results!!Not only is it a healer, but also a soothing pain reliever.You just pour about 40 to 60 drops into shallow glass, & put your head far back & slowly gargle, heck, why not even gargle a little tune to make it a fun & silly moment.Do not spit it out, swallow it with great comfort & satisfaction,cuz it really is the genuine deal my friend!!!
