What's your impression on Chiropractice?!

Question: I'm considering starting treatments - for no particular problems.

All kind of feedback would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

I was not only a skeptic of chiropractic medicine, but I made a solemn vow that I would never do that to my body. I just imagined that my neck would be broken by the end of the session...

BUT!

I was having severe depression, along with extreme pains in the upper back area, not to mention the boughts with headaches, blurred vision, and restlessness when it was time to sleep! I decided to try my guy's chiropractor out of desperation and you know what?

I have another appointment today. I've been seeing my chiropractor for a year now, and I can honestly say I can tell a major difference. I sleep better, I walk straighter, my pain is gone, my headaches improved, and my mood is better. I actually eat better after my appointments too!

Of course, you may not have the same results, but I'm pretty sure you'll feel at least 40% better after about the 3rd time!

Do your research first tho. Ask around, see who people recommend. Stop in and talk with the chiropractors. My chiro took x-rays first, and I'm glad he did. He was able to point out EXACTLY where the pain was coming from. I was amazed how bad my spine and neck were out of alignment!

Good luck, and enjoy it!

for me chiropractic work didn't work. I've started what's called neuro skeletal technique. i have fibromyalgia too and this help a great deal. it's not painful and puts your body into alignment or keeps it there. it's hard to find but well worth it. it can be called nit or nst. look it up online and see

Chiropractic is good for neck and back problems. Some chiropractors also treat TMJ well, but not all. Chiropractic is not a "cure all" as some people claim. If there is nothing wrong with you, you don't need to go. I have scoliosis and went to a chiropractor for years, once every two weeks. It ended up being very costly and never made my back or neck hurt any less. What happened was I'd go in and I'd have pain on the left side of my back. When I'd leave, I'd have pain on my right. It went back and forth for 2 years before I just quit it, and exclusively do stretches and strength exercises. I feel better and have saved hundreds of dollars.

Chriopracting can screw up something that isn't broken. Don't do it!

Chiropractic was too harsh for me, i prefered Bowen (took 4 treatments and i was cured for a knee problem), i would 100% recommend it.
it's good as i go for an annual top up, even though i have no health complaints, my practitioner describes it as my annual body MOT so good for u for going before u get anything!

i would regulate it. its a double edge sword, yes you benefit from the alignment and deep tissue "trigger point" release, but a regular "cracking" of your bones cant be good for you. im supposed to go every week but im only going 1nce a month.-BluRey

I love Chiropractic alignments, they help a lot. Also my Chiropracter is a Acupuncturist and he has made amazing changes to my Excema and skin disruptions with a combination of both.

I am over 60 and people don't have a clue as to my age, I think it has to do with exercize, strength and paying attention to my health rather than worrying about being ill.

It has it's uses, but I'd recommend trying other options before you allow someone to manipulate your spine.
And DO YOUR RESEARCH before choosing a practitioner.
There are lots of good doctors, but even more charlatans out to make a quick buck.

I've found most of my problems were solved through acupuncture, and by laying on my wood floor for 20 minutes with a rolled towel under my neck to relieve stress on my spine.

Chiropractic physicians can do alot for their patients. "cracking" (using HVLA or high velocity/low amplitude techniques) is only one way that can be used to restore motion in the body. There are a number of other techniques that can be used. In addition, DCs are highly trained in physiotherapy and nutrition. Many people use them as their primary doctor. If you are interested in seeing a chiropractor, find one that you feel comfortable with (as you should with any other physician).

good luck
