I have always given my animals human medicines with no side affects.
I would suggest dividing the human dose by 3 or 4 and giving it to the dog 4-6 times per day for 3 days and 2-4 times a day for 2-4 weeks.

You could give her live culture yogurt instead.
It might be easier for her too.
She is very tiny, I would not give her more than maybe 1/4 of a capsule.
If your vet can't answer questions like that then you might want to find a better vet.
Just give her organic yogurt. She will like the taste better if it is flavored, maybe vanilla. It will be easier, too.
