BIOTICS Supplements??!
Question: Is anyone familiar with Biotics Research Corp. Natural Supplements. my holistic chiropractor recommends them as i am lacking certain minerals in my body. She says that are fine and are water soluable and cannot interefere with anything else i am taking.. i feel a little skeptical. is it worth it>?

Hi Dreamer. Biotics Research Corp based in Rosenberg, TX has been producing nutritional supplements for about 30 years. On the consumer side, they manufacture inorganic chemicals; wholesales vitamins & minerals. Due to consumer demand, a large number of companies have sprung up in this field, the best know being GNC whose products are carried in drugstores and GNC stores. BRC has had to recall a couple drugs in 2001 because of potential Salmonella Contamination. In 2005, the FDA wrote their president, Denis DeLuca, advising that they were making false health benefit claims for 3 products on their website (this is documented in the casewatch.org link shown below). This is not to say they are alone in this area. I just checked out BRC for you. Personally, if I felt I needed any kind of supplement, I would tend to stick with the big brand names and distributors that have high visibility. Their capacity to widely distribute to consumers make them a target of greater scrutiny on product quality. If you decide to purchase BRC products, you should check the online site for spinelife.stores shown below. Contrary to BRC's policy, spinelife is selling their products online. If your chiropractor has proof in the form of lab testing she can give to you showing you have deficiences of a degree that needs treatment, then I would do it but do at least comparison shop the prices online and against GNC products.
